Flying the Lake District in the T-6 - Video

Post by Bruce66 »

Hey guys!

Here is a video I made of a flight the Misfits Late Night Squad flew. I couldn't make the flight so I went solo:

Enjoy!

That was my favourite part actually!!

It did beg a question though, that I keep forgetting to ask, as you're not the only one I've seen posting videos with the closeup cockpit view that doesn't allow you to see any instruments. Is that a true representation of what you're actually seeing as you fly? If so, I have no idea how you can land at all without reference to airspeed, gear, flap indications, etc...just wondering... :?

I often edit out all the glances at the instruments and I also have the information on a different screen via network.

Since then I have done three perfect landings with the T-6 but at airports with no trees at the end of the runway (Swift Current and Moose Jaw if you know them). Those airports with trees are a nightmare!

Well 'perfect' is probably overstating things. Maybe perfectly good enough....

No bounces at any rate.

Thanks, that makes sense. I know them well...I've flown in the Moose Jaw Airshow a couple of times in the past...distant past, that is......and yep, it you're looking for airports with no tress in the way, Saskatchewan is a great place for that!!
