So when I said later in the week, I meant tonight. Go figure.

In the meantime, this may be one of my favorite personal efforts on this type. This rounds out the Warbird Adventures paints.

Looking good mangotango, but the gray should be much darker. Have a look at the photo that I have here.

I know its not the same SNJ that you are doing. but all of the SNJ's that I have seen that are in this paint scheme all share the same colors.

Hi Mike
Thanks for checking... Well I was a bit confused before as the N645DS seems to have a bright grey color compared to the other versions. There are darker ones and even 1-2 who look almost charcoal / blackish...
I will have to do a deep research. Tomorrow to find out what color to use.
But compared to my references at this stage I'm happy with the color.
To be continued... ;-)
Thank you once again!

Looks like the right shade to the real aircraft. Note that there is no standard when it comes to modern/civil paint schemes, due to numerous factors. For instance, every restoration shop seems to have a different version of olive drab, based on their own individual research and paint chip-matching. ; )

Here is the real N645DS, as MangoTango is depicting:

Totally agree: lighting, camera quality, and so many other things can "trick" the eye into thinking the same airplane is two different colors, even though they're not. Here's an example - check out how the green is more pronounced in the first picture, whereas in the second picture, it's almost black:

At some point, as a repainter, you've looked at a plane in every light, at every angle, and you just have decide what the "true" color is. Then you test, and retest, and test a couple more times, looking for that same feel that the original paint has. And if you're lucky, you've gotten everything just right, such that, in the sim, the paint color actually does depend on what angle you're viewing it.

Keep at it, guys, all of these paints are looking awesome!

Wow, you guys are rocking these repaints! I get home from work tonight to find not one, but two beautiful Zeros, a stunning blue Navy scheme, and another top notch offering from Bomber_12th, with plenty more amazing paints on the horizon! I don't think I've ever seen so many great repaints so quickly for an A2A release (and I'm loving the MAAM paint by bastins, too!)...

A genuine big thanks to all of you!
