Walkaround questions.

Post by B-17 Flier »

I don't usually do them, I just CTRL 3 start the plane but now I hav ebeen doing them exclusively.

I also made my Comanche have high time, 1000 plus hours.

So when I do the walk around and look at the fittings and hinges which are real photos, do they ever change? Has anyone ever seen corrosion on them?

Same for the fuel, has anyone ever seen water or debris in the fuel bottle?

Has anyone ever seen debris in the nose area?

I have had rags in the cowling, broken hinges and a loose flap actuator rod. You need to pay attention because the changes are subtle (on the ground).

They were actual photos of broken hinges or did it say in the hangar?

If so then this is cool.

I wonder about all the other scenarios I've described though.

Thanks.

The photos change, so keep a sharp lookout.

Well I've had a rag stuck in the cowling air inlet, a broken aileron hinge, a broken elevator hinge, water in the fuel. I've even missed a broken aileron hinge once. Almost "killed" my avatar. As Oracle said the changes are not always that obvious. So just like in real life you need to take your time and look at everything critical. Not just walk around the plane and wiggle all the control surfaces. I love the walkaround feature and how A2A has done it. Makes the sim so much more fun!

For the ultimate in realism I think A2A should implement AccuCrack on all their new AccuSim aircraft.

After a few hundred hours of operation small cracks will begin to appear in the surfaces of your beautiful and immaculately maintained aircraft. You'll need to report these to the mechanic who will happily AccuStopdrill the cracks to save the part. Your plane will take on a whole new personality as you peform your preflight inspection. You'll smile with pride as you go over the airframe recognizing every AccuCrack in the surface and spend time trying to determine if those new cracks you just spotted are merely a fracture in the paint or a real crack beneath requiring stop drilling or worse a part replacement.

AccuCrack by A2A.

PS - I get royalties for every crack.

... has anyone ever seen water or debris in the fuel bottle?
I've seen this one time and it happened very fast.

The Blue fuel bottle seem to have a quick little swirl or blur occur about 1/2 or 3/4 way down the inside of the bottle.

It was like a clear picture --->> replaced by a picture that had a blur, swirl, smudge on it, --->> then a clear picture.

how about Accu-clean? having the aircraft get dirty from use and then the ability to wash it would be a cool feature :)

HA! Love the suggestions!

I'm gonna do a test in a little while today. I'm going to deliberately crash the Comanche and before I repair it in the hangar I'm gonna do a walk-around and see if the photos change.

Just a test with a crash test dummy and the plane will be equipped with ROV hardware. LOL!

Well, I took off and deliberately crash id and then went to the hangar to see that I did indeed have extensive damage.
Didn't repair it though.
So I did a walk-around and I saw nothing, no broken rods, no broken bolts or fittings.
Very disappointed.

Did the mechanic actually point out that there was a broken hinge or actuator or something? Did you brake the prop in your crash? Did that show up on the plane?
