Comanche ILS approach using autopilot

Post by Heronjr »

Hi,
Just a question about the use of the Comanche autopilot in mode HI and using the radio GS DME mode. At the moment I am authorized for the ILS approach, the ALT Hold is turned on. If I maintain the ALT Hold on during the GS diamond descend, will the airplane follow down the GS?

Of course I am tuned in the corresponding ILS frequency.

Thanks and regards

No. The comanche autopilot, stec30, only has lateral deviation correction.
Alt hold function is only to hold the same altitude, in any mode.

Roger that. The Comanche was one of the airplanes I trained during my PP course in the 80's, but that one didn't have any autopilot facilities (she was pure IFR - I Follow Roads). At the present moment, and after some flights, I can say this aircraft is the nearest to the real thing among the A2A GA's.

Congrats to the crew!
