Hey guys,
I wonder if it's possible to simulate ferry tanks. One could load passengers and/or baggage representing the weight of the ferry fuel and later "transfer" it via the shift-4 menu to the fuel tanks. With only one pilot you could load than about 180 gallons of fuel which gives you an endurance of about 16 hours and an range of about 2200 nm. Theoretical and with a power setting of 55%.
Does that work technical (in the simulation) or do I miss something? Has anybody tried that?
Thanks in advance,
Zacke

Re: simulating ferry tanks
Hey Zacke,
You could certainly use that method. For even more extreme record-breaking endurance flights, you can actually modify the payload parameters a little as described here. I certainly wouldn't fancy a 58 hour flight in a Comanche (real or simulated) though.
Thanks,
Nick

Thanks for your reply and the link, Nick.
Oh no - no tweaking with files! I'm more and more thin-skinned concerning over-editing the sim. It feels like I have reinstalled my FS rig a thousand times...
