Edit engine hours

Post by CptLemons »

Hi everyone,

I'm basically looking for a way to amend the engine hours on my Comanche to match my owned PA24 Comanche 250 in FSEconomy.

I know this is possible as another member of FSEconomy offered this as a service but has been inactive for a couple years now so I can't ask him.

I know it is achieved by editing the .dat file but does anyone have a tried and tested way of doing this?

Thanks all

There is no known way to edit the engine/airframe hours directly. Editing the dat-file directly without knowing what to change, could lead to undesirable results.

But in shift + 3 panel, you can set the plane to an randomly created used state. Doing this multiple times could change the hours to a value near the one you would enter manually.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Someone definitely knows how to do this as he did it before and produced both a .exe file that changed the engine time to a predefined time. However, that someone is no longer active.

When (read: IF) I figure it out, I'll let you guys know

Hi Lewis,

All due respect, I'm not getting confused.

I have found the thread on another forum where someone was offering this for A2A aircraft users and I used the service to amend the aircraft hours for my A2A Cherokee to match the hours on my model on another website.

How he did this, I do not know. More so if the A2A guys themselves aren't aware of how to do this.

Shame he's no longer active

I believe the thread is unavailable unless you are a member but I've taken a screenshot of the initial offering post. I do not wish to incriminate anyone if this modification breaches the EULA or any other such policy. I assume it's no different to creating custom liveries.

Also please note the monetary value in the post is based on in-game currency so no real world transactions took place.
