Re: SCREENSHOTS
Clouds, shadows and lights. North Pacific Coast en route to Vancouver.
Typical summer weather with ocean breezes and coastal fogs.

Re: SCREENSHOTS
Hi Lewis,
No, following the costline northbound. I have been there and it's amazing how "real" is the weather/atmosphere rendering (Orbx/ASN/Rex OD). One could almost feel the chilly summer breeze…

Haven't flown the Comanche in ages. So after a quick oil change, we boogie from Cle Elum to Swanson. Hell, I even landed her without floating down 3/4 of the runway.

Re: SCREENSHOTS
I bought Orbx Australia version 2 more or less as soon as it came out. I am very pleased with this new version as the scenery is greatly enhanced and it comes with heaps more airports that have scenery objects to add detail. I started out doing a series of short hops around the Torres Straits islands starting at Horn Island, and am now working my way south to Cairns in a series of short hops. Some of the runways have been less than flat, which has added to the sense of being in the middle of no where. I've just finished a hop from Bizant in far north Queensland out to Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef. I might add that I've had no end of attempts to get the screenshot function working in P3D, but finally I've had success.
Tanks were filled at Horn Island, and I've made quite a few stops. I've landed at Bamaga, Heathlands, Agnew, Weipa, Batavia Downs (dirt runway, and it undulates), Lockhart River, Coen, and lastly Bizant. I presently have empty tip tanks, and about half full mains. Next stop is Cape Flattery, then Hope Vale, Cooktown and finally Cairns. I wonder if I'll make it on the remaining fuel??
Leveling out after take off from Bizant at 3500ft. Also praying for a smooth running engine as you wouldn't want to make a forced landing in these parts.
Approaching Lizard Island.
Taking a closer look and waking up the locals.
Final Approach. The landing was made more interesting as there was a decent cross wind from the right of the runway.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: SCREENSHOTS
Departed Lizard Island and heading south after a touch and go at Cape Flattery
Arriving at Hope Vale in far north Queensland. Civilisation at last.
Hope Vale again, picking up a passenger for the quick flight to Cooktown. It wouldn't be Australia without a Holden ute close by.
Take off from Hope Vale. Another undulating runway which makes for an interesting approach, especially with an added cross wind component, which almost every airport seems to have in these parts.
Coming round the mountain. A short flight over Cooktown then back to the airport to the north of the town.
On approach to Cooktown. At least this time the winds aren't at 90 degrees to the runway.
Tied down at Cooktown. At least there's fuel here. So far I've done about 700 miles and 10 take offs and landings and I have about 30% of the contents of my main tanks left. Cairns is about 120 to 150 miles away so I'll make it, but not with much in the way of reserves.
Cheers,
Mike
