DME in c182 won't show any distance when in the FREQ mode

Post by eagle67 »

Hi Experts,

Have been diag this issue for a while, I have tried and follow some of the advise in this forums..since it seems to be
some know issue with this DME-receiver in FREQ mode. Have so fare not been even able to get it to work.

Issue in short :
DME in c182 won't show any distance when in the FREQ mode. only show 3 dash`s.

* In some area it seems to work like in engm(Oslo Norway) area with nav1 on 115.95 and dme in FREQ mode on 117.70.(see pic. below)
- https://rushfiles.one/client/publiclink ... 55lRMQ7sl0
- https://rushfiles.one/client/publiclink ... xb6pm8QzI6

What I have tried:
- Update all navaid, no luck
- Tried the flight planer trick, no luck
- Tried to load c182 in different way, start with stock then change to c182, no luck.
- Tried to find a solutions in this forum.

My setup:
- Win10/64b
- P3D v4.4.16.27077
- Active sky
- Orbx, many senery/vector ++ (could this mess up my dme-receiver ?)
- fsuipc/linda > v5.14/v3.09

To Info:
I have started to use the c182 for IFR in the PilotEgde Area (lax) and its quiet impracticable/annoying that I cant use
the FREQ mode, because on several approach you will need/nice to have dme to different station to be able to follow
some of these approach chart. My understanding is this should work in the real aircraft and I also understand many
has this working just fine. So to be able to diag this further anyone has some advise/action-plan how to be able to
nail this further :-), any advise are very appreciated ?

Please Advise

Hi Soren,

I think you've already seen my reply on this issue here, and as Michał has added, the issue was reported to Lockheed Martin in the past.

You may find that if you load the C182 at an airport you know to have working FREQ mode (e.g. ENGM in your case) the system will function as expected provided you don't use the sim UI to reload elsewhere. Could you give us an example of a specific airport or navaid where the FREQ mode hasn't worked for you? Also, please can you confirm which airport and aircraft your default P3Dv4 scenario currently uses?

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Ah Okay so this is probely a p3d issue, I will comeback with more details when back on my computer,

Fyi:

- Have this issue in the LAX area using ORBX "NA Southern California", if I recall correct it was when using Los Angles >LAX on 113.6 > nav1 and
Seal Beach > SLI 115.7 > in FREQ mode on dme-radio. (following/using approach chart "LOC RWY 25" to HHR, you have dme to both LAX and SLI).

- Have a friend with almost same setup, which means same p3d-version, same ORBX area "NA Southern California", and also has the A2A c182,
For him this works just fine.

Thanks so Fare,

Okay, thanks Soren. Could be that the difference is caused by where your default flight is located compared to your friend's.

Looks like you've read the topic linked above DYFLWD, so I'm afraid there's not much else I can add at this time.

Thanks,
