Another texture problem

Post by Cat3508 »

Downloaded the 182 yesterday, went through the full instalment, and the result is that I have a lovely shiny black aircraft with a greyed out instrument panel. I am using FSX with SP1 & SP2 installed. The tool bar at the top is also missing in windowed mode. Uninstalled the lot, and re-installed with the same result. A bit disappointed at the moment, as I would have expected to not have a problem, after reading all the hype with regards to the aircraft available from A2A.

Welcome to the forum Neil

Have you installed the latest updater HERE http://www.a2asimulations.com/downloads ... _26_15.zip.

Look at the FAQ in the c182 technical section.

If the tool bar in your FSX SP1 and SP2 is missing then it sounds as though your FSX may not be correctly installed.

Regards Chris

Hello Neil,

the tool bar at the top missing points to an FSX error, its not used at all by us. It sounds like you might have some corruption in your FSX you will want to fix prior to the troubleshooting of our aircraft.

I'd first try a SP2 re-install.

thanks,

Hi Guys. The story so far is: Uninstalled the C182, and FSX. Reinstalled FSX, then found that SP1 had not been installed, although I had originally thought that it had been when I did a download of them both. However, both SP's are now installed. Reinstalled the C182 and down loaded and installed the updater as you recommended. Started FSX and selected the 182, and there it was, in all its splendour. Clicked around the cockpit and outside views. Going back into the cockpit, all the gauges are blank. every thing else is as it should be including the radio stack. A bit frustrated at the moment, as I thought the problem had been solved. What to do next :?:
Cheers,

check your FSX cfg file. there should be items under "trusted" that might not be set to the right value. particularly anything that has to do with A2A "guages". their values should = 1 or 2. if there is a minus sign before the value, delete it and make it a 1 or 2 and see how that works. here's an example....

Checked values and they are all showing #2. Aircraft has now turned black again, plus the bottom half of the instrument panel is also black, with no instruments or switches showing. The right hand side is now also black.

Am wondering if the initial download could have been faulty somehow, I ordered a CD burn copy at the same time, but haven't as yet received it. Will try that when it arrives, and hopefully get a better result. If it doesn't, then it looks like I've just wasted my money.

Nearly forgot to mention, that I found the instrument dimmer switch had been turned right down. Turned full up, and could see the the visible instruments much better, but they still arent as bright and colourful as they should be.

Hello,

can you let us know your computer specs, it almost sounds like your system is struggling to run the simulation.

Hey Neil,

can you post a screen shot to show us, no one else in Accu-sim history since 2008 has encountered issues like this I am wondering if its a core FSX error you are encountering or something to do with the triple screen setup and its config.

thanks,

2.99 GB RAM? IMHO not really excessively much RAM to run such equipment...

Hi Guys,

Received my CD Copy, and installed same. Still have the same issues, so it looks like its my setup which is the problem, as its now about 4 years old. Have a few grand to spare, so I am looking into getting an entirely new setup, and moving to Win 7 64bit.

Thanks for all the interest, and helpful suggestions.
Cheers,

Neil :)

Hello,

we can no doubt still help you get up and running on your current system, but seeing a screenshot would help to see the issue you are experiencing.

Hey Guys,

I just want to throw in my 2 cents on the computer specs. Until recently, I was running:

Core i7-920, 12GB
1x ATI Radeon HD6870 w/ 3 monitors.
FSX w/ A2A C182, GTN750

I want to note that I didn't have issues except slow frames in heavy clouds. It's not exactly the same, but still quite long in the tooth.

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the silence. My computer has suffered a few problems, namely a Hard Disc failure and then a Video card failure. Have now ordered a new build computer. Some of the specs are :
CPU: Intel core i7-4790K (8M Cache, 4.40Ghz )
MOBO: Asus ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Z97-PRO
GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 970 Overclocked GDDR5
RAM: Kingston HyperX BLu 8GB, 1600mhz
PSU: XFX PRO 850W
HDD: 1TB WD Black
Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO x2
ODD: Samsung SATA 1.5 GB Black
SSD Crucial MX100 128GB
OS: Windows 7 32 Bit

Hopefully, this should make life a lot easier, and finally get my C182 into the air. :)

Cheers,

Neil
