Stall buffet?

Post by yesbutwhereami »

Has anyone observed pre-stall buffeting in the C182?

I see pronounced stall buffeting with default aircraft when AccuFeel is enabled, but I have not been able to see this with the C182.

For example, with the default C172, AccuFeel on, full flaps, power idle, gradually pitching up to reduce speed, the plane starts to shake at about 55 KIAS, and the stall horn sounds at about 50 KIAS.

With the A2A C182, Accufeel on or off (it shouldn't matter), same scenario, the stall horn sounds at about 43 KIAS, but I do not see the shaking. If I continue to pitch up, eventually at about 35 KIAS the stall horn squeals louder and the plane becomes very twitchy and uncontrollable in roll, so this is presumably a full stall, but I still never see shaking.

Wondering if this is by design, or a problem with my installation?
