[P3D 4.1] C182 Turn Coordinator power

Post by ilya1502 »

Is it correct that the T/C is connected to the avionics bus and won't work unless the avionics power switch is on?

No. Turn coordinator does not appear to be connected to the avionics bus, but directly to the main bus #2.

Thanks, Esa, this confirms my guess and means there is an issue with that. Would be good to hear from A2A staff members' input on this matter.

Have you, by chance, tested how it is on the 172?

Okay. I wonder if this has anything to do with that the real life example of 182 used for testing apparently was the G1000 version. It has all the interesting stuff behind avionics switch, but does not have a turn coordinator.

Hi.
I have just fired up my c182 , if turn co-ord not working , you should see a red flag in window above the right wing in the turn co ord gauge.
Two items control the power to this gauge as follows.
1./ avionic switch , but this is not likly to be forgotten , else radios would not function.
2/. 5 amp circuit breaker just above nav switch , check if its popped this could be missed .

Cheers Alan,

Our chat was more about that it actually should not require avionics switch to be on, as it should be connected directly to the main bus #2. So the function we describe here is not correct, the turn coordinator should come on with the master switch.

Edit: and I checked the diagram, it should be same with the 172R: turn coordinator comes on with the master (battery) switch.

Hi Esa.
Sorry i miss understood the question , just fired up the c172 , and this is as you say powered by the batt switch only as opposed to the c182 which requires both batt and avionic switches on.

Yep. 182 should be the same way. :)

Hi Ilya,

Yes, this was corrected with the updated installers for P3Dv4 released back in May. Please see this post for the full change log.

Thanks,
Nick

Yes, for P3Dv4, the only way to get the latest updates is via the new installers. They use an inbuilt updater tool, accessible via the Windows Start Menu → 'A2A Simulations' folder.

Thanks,
Nick
