Not sure how I missed this paint!

Very lovely

Any chance to delete the registration from the bottom of the wing? USA doesn't do that with their registrations.

I believe that while it is not a requirement for domestic flying, there are some countries that requrie underwing registration markings to operate in their airspace. I have also seen under wing US registrations on some aircraft flying domestically. I believe it is optional for the operator, which in some cases, underwing registrations are desired such as at large flight schools. While I was at ERAU, their Cessna's had under wing reg numbers. Perhaps the University wished to play nice with the surrounding community/residents, enabling them to report students who were flying in a less than safe manner lol.

Cheers
TJ

In Germany underwing registrations are mandatory for aircraft registered in Germany. However if you're operating a US-registered airplane in Germany the US requirements are to be applied to that aircraft. So even though "our" aircraft need to have a underwing reg if flying a N-reg here the plane doesn't have to have the underwing registration. I'm not sure about other countries that's just how it is here.

Happy flying

Interesting debate.

I guess I should in future add 2 versions, with and without underwing reg. Or leave it entirely.
What I usually do is to study the images at hand, and if they have an underwing reg I add it, otherwise I use artistic licence and now knowing the "law" I will in future not add it on N- registered aircraft. Here in ZA the underwing reg is also mandatory.

Same thing here in Brazil.

Not a criticism, by any means, more an observation has a layer 'slipped'. Note the starboard air vent and bonnet line appear to have a double i.e. one above the other. You can see this on the 182_s paint, also the fuel tank seal discs on underside of wings are double. beautiful repaint though.

Regards
Mike

I did some research on this a while back, in relation to another repaint on this forum. Basically, for US registered planes, no rego is shown on the wing undersides. In Europe, Britain, Australia, New Zealand and essentially 95% of the rest of the world, a rego must be shown on the wing undersides.

Hope this helps,
Mike
