A new 10000NM trip
Plans are underway to begin a trip that will take me around the south pacific. Starting in New Zealand and flying as far as Tahiti at this stage the longest leg will be 650nm and the shortest around 74nm with average at around 250nm to 350nm, Not taking into account prep flights this should bring my C182 into the 200HR club. Keep a lookout for updates over the next few months

Re: A new 10000NM trip
Awesome, thanks. I'm just loading up the first leg now for a blast this afternoon. Not sure where I'll end up really though as I might wander off a little

Re: A new 10000NM trip
My recommendation for drop ins are NZRC, NZQN, NZMF, NZMC, NZNS, NZOM, NZWN, NZFI, NZAP, NZAR, all great airfield that pose their own unique challenge
Re: A new 10000NM trip
Very cool. I just did a short hop from Cuba to key west and it was very unnerving flying over that much open water. 37 min of trepidation.

Re: A new 10000NM trip
First flight NZAA-NZKT has now occuerd flight was done IFR (AA (PEEHA1P 23L) KYPRA G591 PERAS (RNAV 30) KT), flight was a non event really it was there more as a staging flight than anything. i did note that the oil pressure seemed lower than normal and with it not being changed since 91.1 Tacho (Currently 122.0) with the change due at 141.1hrs, the supplied screenshot shows its very very black. I have also included shots of the current aircraft condition and load out that will be used on every flight
the aircraft is in OK shape and should be fine until i get to NWWW where i will be away from long over water journeys for a few flights.
i am anticipating to complete an oil change on my second stop at NWWW
The next flight is from NZKT to YSNF (Screenshot of plan supplied)

Re: A new 10000NM trip
The flight from NZKT to YSNF has now been completed and it was a good flight. the flight took 3hrs 30min vs the planned time to 3hrs 37min so a nice bonus for this leg, weather enroute was good with a slight wind on the nose the whole way. Unfortunately the aircraft has developed an oil leak and as far as i can find there is no maintenance facility at YSNF so its onwards to NWWW for that. One achievement that i had enroute was finding my range at TOC (9000FT) and i can get a little over 1000NM not counting reserves so it is good knowing i have that there if i need it in a pinch
Screenshots of this flight can be found at
http://s1300.photobucket.com/user/Tupol ... YSNF/story
Next flight is to NWWW in New Caledonia where i will be able to add another flag to the tail

Re: A new 10000NM trip
Nice shots and yes the Flag idea is pretty damn awesome. I remember FAC257 when he flew the cub RTW he added the flags as he went, the end result was a pretty awesome cub repaint! I look forward to seeing your own collection for the 182 grow into what I'm sure will be one hell of a cool multi-coloured tail
cheers,
Lewis
