P3D crashes to desktop with this plane

Post by JanF »

If I start a flight with the Cherokee in P3D V2.5 the simulator crashes to the desktop. But if I first start the flight with the A2A Cub and after that load the cherokee no crash. But I would like to be able to directly load a flight with this plane which of course should be possible. I have run the updater and all my planes were up to date

Hello Jan,

what is your default flight set too?

The platform doesn't allow complex aircraft to correctly be the default flight, so the default flight should always be a default platform aircraft. This applies to our Accu-sim range of simulations also.

thanks

I would not say that I made the flight as a default flight. I start P3D then select to load my previously saved flight with the Cherokke. That flight was made by first start P3D then create a flight with the Cub and start it. Then I replaced the Cub with the Cherokee and saved the flight.
I have not selected to make the flights in question to be 'default flight'

Hello Jan,

can you please make the crash happen and then go to your system event viewer to find out what the error log for the crash states is crashing. As that will give us a clue as to what might be happening.

Also if you don't mind me asking, is there a reason you are running the old P3Dv2 and not a newer better performing and less buggy version?

thanks,

I have tried making the crash happen again but now it wont happen for some reason. If it happen again I will check the event viewer.

Regarding the second question. I considered P3D V4 but waited since it cost rather much the client itself + new FSUIPC and in addition to that I understand I need a new graphics card (now have 970GTX).
So I first waited to see what P3D V5 could offer and then of course the new MSFS2020. It does not make sense to get P3D V4 now.

Ahh good to hear it is resolved, I would expect just a corrupt load maybe if its not happening after a system reboot.
