Hello folks,
I fly a Cherokee 180 with a 430W; I figured this aircraft plus that GPS would be a fantastic combination to stay current even when I can't go fly (damn Seattle weather).
However, I'm having an issue getting the RealityXP 430 to drive the OBS/CDI1. I used the "A2A Cherokee 180 Configurator" and when the 430 goes through the panel self-test, nothing happens; OBS1 stays flagged and the needles stay centered.
If I go into the 430 config (shift+right-click on the top of the 430) and set up the 430 to use the "HSI" then I can get the needles to properly deflect half-left & half-up, no flags; however, once the test is done, then OBS1 dies again; flags, needles centered. Doesn't matter if I hit the CDI button on the 430 or play with the "INOP" nav/gps switch on the panel, OBS1 is totally dead. I have my aircraft sitting 0.5 NM from the VOR I'm tuned to and the GPS in VNAV mode, and nothing.
COM2 and CDI2 works fine, but that doesn't help me all that much.
Any help would be appreciated, I would hate to have to return the aircraft.

Re: Issue with OBS1/RealityXP GNS 430
Hello Trios and welcome to the A2A forums.
So that we can help you resolve this issue, please can you let us know which host simulator you have the Cherokee installed in, FSX/P3Dv3/P3Dv4, etc?
If you're using P3Dv4, the solution may be simply to open the Shift 3 "controls" pop-up menu, then click on the "GNS 430" text to switch to the default Bendix King NAV/COM1 unit and make sure it's powered on before using the same menu to revert back to the GNS 430.
Thanks,
Nick

I fixed the problem, actually... by reading the FAQ, which I should've done before I started a thread.

In that post, point number 3 fixed my problem completely.
Thanks for responding though!
