Move FSX license to P3Dv4

Post by xbriscoe »

Morning all,

I am new to simming and playing about with various sims. I tried FSX:SE first and bought your PA28 (less than 2 weeks ago) which is superb. I am now playing with P3Dv4 and wanted to move my license to this. I was led to believe that any FSX plan will be made to work with P3Dv4 but I am not so sure now and been told otherwise.

Could I please "add/move" the FSX license to a P3Dv4 license on my account (I am very likely to stick with P3Dv4 as it appears much better)?

Thanks, Neil.

The P3D and FSX licenseels are for separate products. Each must be purchased separately.

Ok. Can I purchase the upgrade to a bundle (i.e. the delta of $20)...?

It isn't considered an upgrade. It's kind of along the lines purchasing Windows and Mac versions of software.

OK. Is there a mechanism that I can pay $20 and change/amend my (very) recent order to include the P3D version? I would be quite disappointed if not as this was purchased last week and not asking to do a direct swap out?

Where can I get a definitive answer from?

Thanks, Neil.

I think one of the A2A crew should be looking in here soon.

It might not hurt to send A2A Lewis a private message.

Many thanks. I have sent a PM however, it sits in the OUTBOX (probably due to only being on the forum a day or so and only have 3/4 posts).

Hopefully he will pop by and help me out.

It seems that I was too quick to buy just the FSX:SE version, then I played with P3DV4 and love it... I can see me emptying my wallet into A2A for trainer GA planes (C172, PA28) as they are so nice.

Thanks, neil.

Curious as to what the outcome was......

When they moved accounts for the new store; I realised when I checked that I had an FSX licence for the C172 that I'd completely forgotten about because I haven't had FSX for a long time..... I also have the C182, Commanche and V35 for P3D

They moved the licences into the new store fine, but I still can't use the C172 as I have no intent to install FSX again..... it would be great if there was an upgrade path and I could just pay the delta ($20) to have my C172 (FSX) converted to the C172 (FSX/P3D bundle) licence so I can use it in P3D, like my others.

I have asked via the store before but never got an answer

Hello,

It's not possible to retrospectively pay the difference between the bundle price and the original purchase cost of the FSX version to 'convert' to the P3D licence. However, if you've had multiple orders transferred to the new store, you should have accrued quite a few loyalty points ('A2A Flying Hours') which should reduce the upgrade cost a bit.

In terms of pricing, please bear in mind that the P3D versions of the Accu-Sim fleet have been significantly upgraded since release with extra features and 64-bit code, whereas new development for FSX is limited.

Thanks,
Nick
