P3D v.2.2 Engine won't start

Post by galacticfish »

Hello,

I purchased the P3D academic version today and installed it on my desktop, where it works perfectly! I also have a gaming laptop that I travel with (windows 8.1, Nvidia m660,i5), so I installed the Cherokee on it (same version of P3d). Once the Cherokee loads up, I can see everything fine-- but no matter what I do, the plane will not start. No battery, nothing. My guess is that this is some kind of anti-piracy??

Thanks,

Hello,

what does the maintenance hanger state?

Did you install via right clicking the installer and selecting 'run as admin'

thanks,
Lewis

Please note that LM allows P3D Academic only to be installed on one computer. It might be the copy protection, or did you buy two licences?

I have the same problem but inverted.
On p3d it warks but in fsx no.
It has no life and popup windows do not show up. C172 works perfectly on both

I checked the hanger state, and essentially everything is "shot".. dead battery, bad tires, oil leak, etc. I clicked on the battery and it just reports "Low voltage". I reinstalled using admin, with no effect. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hello,

did you do anything with the maintenance hanger, a complete overall to fix everything?

Hi,

I've completely deleted and re-installed the Cherokee (also disabling anti-virus program). When I go to the hanger, I click on the overhaul button but nothing happens. Here is a link to a screenshot of the hanger as I see it.. https://www.dropbox.com/s/hlg34zj04dseiz8/PA28.jpg

Thanks!

Hello,

It sounds like simconnect might be the issue. You will want to install the simconnect as described here;

"P3D DOES come with the FSX Simconnect libraries, for the precise reason to allow backward compatibility with FSX Simconnect clients, and they are supposed to be installed automatically.
They are located in these folders
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP1\retail\lib
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib
If for some reason they haven't been installed automatically by the P3D installer, you might try launching the .MSI files in those folders."

Remember to restart your PC after installation.

Lewis,

You are a genius!! I reinstalled the simconnect libraries, and that fixed the issue. Maybe share that nugget of information or sticky it in the FAQ?

Thanks sir!
