Text looking awful (P3Dv2)

Post by Liam »

Hello there, I just purchased the Piper Cherokee and the maintenance hangar text looks rather bad. It looks nothing like the screenshots so I think its something on my end.

I'm running a 1920x1080 Resolution.

Other Specs:

i7 4770k @ 3.6Ghz
16GB Ram 1600MHz
3TB HDD
Nvidia Geforce 650Ti SSC 2GB

Looks like some sort of sharpening process at work.

Check the display settings and if you have CCC or nVidia Control panel overriding settings, check that too.

According to my Nvidia CP, everything is set by the application.

Turning The FXAA/Anti Aliasing etc off didn't fix it either :/

Hello Liam,

do you have large size text or anything such as dpi setting changes selected in your windows settings?

thanks,

Hey Lewis,

Not that I know of, my text settings are all on smaller (100%).

Ill try running P3D with 'Disable display scaling on high DPI Settings' checked.

EDIT: Didn't fix anything.

Hello Liam,

Can you please try lowering your resolution to see if that makes any difference. We have not come across this issue before so are slightly confused what could cause a default windows text to do this.

Do you do anything special such as run multiple monitors?

thanks,
Lewis

Hi,

I'm not running multiple monitors, I am however running windows 8, perhaps that's what is causing the issue?

Ill try the different resolutions and get back to you.

No luck with different Resolutions (from 1920x1080 to 1024x768).

Is there a way to change the font it uses through a CFG or something?

I can read it, but its not very pleasant :P

Liam,

I don't know how much this is worth, but am I correct that the other text in the screen shot looks OK? The pilot notes on the left side look ok from here, not sure about the rest. That woul tend, I think, to point to a font problem.

Hello Liam,

do you have any other Accu-sim simulations that display this issue?

I do not, this is my only Product from you. All other fonts are fine, its just the one on the notepad. I tried following steps to reset my fonts but of no results.

I reinstalled it, but this time I restarted and ran CCleaner on the Font Cache and then installed again.

Top Notch stuff. Maybe a corrupt font in windows then. Just out of interets Liam, when you installed did you right click and select run as admin?

thanks

Second time I did, I thought that having UAC disabled meant that I didn't need to.
