CHT an issue?

Post by Zacke »

Hey guys,

since there's no CHT gauge in the Cherokee's cockpit I'm a bit anxious about running her to hot or not being aware of engine problems. Maybe I'm to much "in" the more complex A2A birds :).

Question: Is the Cherokee's engine prone to high (or low) CHT or is this a no-brainer?

Thanks in advance,
Zacke

I've never had any engine issues whatsoever with A2A Cherokee. I'm not into babying airplanes, but I avoid mistreating them as well. So, unless you are doing something specific to overheat the engine, such as way extended climbs at very low airspeeds, I doubt that you'd encounter any issues in normal operations.

Pretty much what Akar said, I've never had any issues at all, its pretty much fire up and go with the 172 and Cherokee. The only thing I tend to worry about on a flight is the icing situation getting ready to heat when needed flying around the UK. 8)
