I had my first failure in flight

Post by fogboundturtle »

I was flying over my hometown just trying out the Cherokee 180. What a beautiful plane. I was enjoying the view when all of the sudden the plane started steering to the right. I thought it was just the wind until I arrived closer to my destination, I up the flaps and my plane started going into a tail spin. What an handful it was to recover. I realized that my left flap was stuck. I had to do an emergency landing with no flaps while the plane if leaning right. Thank you so much for this amazing plane. Next time I won't skip the pre-flight routine.

btw, I hope you will be ported this plane and accu-sim to MFS 2020

Welcome to the wonderful world of A2A! :D And welcome to the forum.

I've really enjoyed the Cherokee, it's very pleasant to fly. Check out the Comanche as well as it's modeled after Scott's personal aircraft and may be the best of the A2A hangar. And take advantage of the P-40 even if it's not the kind of aircraft you would normally fly; the price is right. :D

Thanks for the suggestion. I also acquired the Bonanza V35 Tails. So I got my handful right now with this 2 planes.

Flaps getting stuck are probably my most common flight failure in a2a ga planes. Guess I come in to high and hot for landing, too much strain on the flaps.
Cheers!/Andreas
