I can't find this on avsim, but can some one tell me on how can I get that specific gps vs the small one in the Piper.

Thanks,

Very nice Ron. Delighted to add it to my virtual hangar.

Thanks for that, Ron - much appreciated!

Hopefully, I'll be doing a few NZ repaints myself. Does anyone know which of the Piper PA-28 models relate to the A2A version?

I did a search on NZ registered PA-28s and found a bewildering: 140, 151, 161, 180, 181, 200, 201T, 235.

Do they relate to engine sizes, or are there differences in the airframe?

Adam.

What you have here is the same basic plane, but the numbers relate to engine power. I think the 140 and 180 will be the same shape. 151,161 and 181 will have the later tapered outer wings and are developments of the earlier 150, 160 and 180 types. 200 and 201T will be retractables (Piper Arrows), the 201T is a T tail. The 235 is similar to the 180, but will probably have a greater wing span, possibly a larger span stabilator. I'd love to hear from Scott as to why the 235 models were dropped during the development of the Cherokee, though I suspect I've touched on it a little here. The 235 gets some rave reviews from owners, from what I've read. I'd also suggest some research into the PA-28 range, as it's a long and confusing history.

Cheers,
Mike

Hey Adam...I've done some research on PA-28-180s in NZ. The only other current one (two window model "180 C") I can find pictures apart from FSP is ZK-CUE. There appears to be at least one other in NZ but I can't find a picture of it - its probably stashed away in a hangar somewhere and doesn't fly much or at all.

Some pics - note the drooping wing tips in this pic must be a more recent addition - in 2013
