C172 has no power and no engine

Post by RJM »

When I open FSX Steam, my new A2A C172 opens with no power and no engine.
Sometimes the aircraft is shown with a dead engine and in other cases it'stutters and gargles before it dies off.

Troubleshooting:
I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app several times without result.
I have followed the before/start up engine checklists but the engine won't come to live.

What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks for your help.

Best regards, Robert

Hi
Welcome to the world of Accu-.Sim
Did you check that Auto-Mixture is unticked?

uninstalling/reinstalling rarely solve anything, so please stop doing that unless specifically asked to by :a2a: support
Kind Regards
Tomas

Did you make sure that you aircraft is updated? Even though you just purchased it, it still needs an update. The updater can be found here: https://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/vi ... 23&t=57819

I just installed the update. Still no effect.
FSX opens with a dead engine and there's no way to restart it...

When I exit FSX, it says: attempt to call a nil message.

what is your default flight? it's normally not a good idea to start FSX with a complex addon.

Following your remark, I changed the default back to a standard C172 Skyhawk and that started with no problems and with the engine running.
Then I ended the flight and changed it to the A2A C172. This time the flight opened with the engine dead....

Hi Tomas,
I'm not sure that I understand what you mean.
Do you mean that I need to follow and execute each and every step in this FAQ thread?

What do you mean by checking the aircraft in the hangar?

the A2A GA airplanes all have a maintenance hangar. I believe the default keys are "Shift + 7"
It would also be a good idea to have a look in the manual. E.G. you will have to use the A2A fuel and payload manager to refuel the aircraft. the default will not refuel it. on my pc i find the manual in:
Start button -> all programs -> A2A simulations -> Accu-Sim C172 Trainer
did you save the default C172 as you default flight? if no, please do so
Kind Regards
Tomas

I cannot find a program called Accu sim C172 Trainer file.
Under start - All programs - A2A Simulations, I only see the Pilots manual, the aircraft configurator FSX and the C172 Input configurator files...
