Hi Nick,

I’m trying to install an Aust. Repaint to fly but none will load?

I have tried a few Aust. Repaints by A2A, etc... etc... no luck!

I’m guessing it’s to do with PBR Textures!

Any ideas?

When we released the PBR version of the 172, we left the legacy non-PBR model, so existing repaints should work just fine Graham. However, they can also be aliased to the new PBR model and should generally look okay.

Probably the best bet is for you to copy and paste the edited top section of your aircraft.cfg file here, and we can take a look and see if there are any issues preventing the repaint from displaying. Often it'll just be a small typo such as the sequencing (the "flightsim.3" etc. bit) being off.

I double checked the cfg. file making sure everything was correct, especially the sequence numbers after I copied and pasted. I did try a few different repaints and none worked!

I found the textures supplied with the repaint file couldn’t be displayed or viewed. If that makes sense to you!

I will send you a copy of the repaint file, etc...

Nick,

I had no trouble installing a Aust. Repaint into the C182!

It’s all good, works well!

Today, I noticed on the C172R, parked with the Master Switch off, the beacon and nav. lights still work?

The same happens with C182!

In real life that wouldn’t happen!

Hi Graham,

For the 172 repaint, you'll need to actually show us the whole top section of your edited aircraft.cfg (i.e. everything before the "[General]" section) so that we can check for typos. For example, there's a missing "[" in the extract above, and something like this would certainly explain the issue.

For the problem with the external lights showing with the battery off, have you installed any utilities such as FSUIPC, or add-ons which modify lighting effects?

Yes, I do have FSUIPC4 and ENVTEX installed, will work out which is causing the issue?

Okay, thanks Graham - chances are the battery/lighting issue could be related to one of these. In terms of FSUIPC, make sure the "extend battery life" option under the miscellaneous settings is unticked.

Hmm - it should work without the "pbr" reference under model as we retained the original, non-PBR model in the folder, specifically for backwards compatibility with existing repaints.

The aircraft.cfg looks good Graham. The only thing I notice is that Marius's repaint is titled "C172R VH-LIO" whereas the included paint schemes use the format "A2A C172R N7274H". This means the repaint will appear further down under "C" in the aircraft listing.
