After uninstalling the A320 and checking the folder referenced above has gone, have you tried rerunning the Accu-Sim update?

Just a thought, but do you recall if you installed FSX SP1 before you installed SP2?

Also, did you try what I mentioned earlier in the thread?

As a test of the panel functionality and to rule out key conflicts, please could you try opening one or two of them using the FSX top menu (Views → Instrument Panel).

It may also help if you can post the contents of the "panel.cfg" file for the 172 (F:\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_C172\panel) so we can check if it's been modified.

Also, any mods to your FSX.cfg at all? If fact, please can you try making a backup of the file, and then deleting it to allow FSX to generate a fresh copy. (C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX)

I also recommend you try deleting the contents of the "Documents\A2A\FSX\Cessna172" folder in case these have become corrupted somehow.

Still can't get the panels - either using the Shift+ or the FSX menu

Can access menus using the FSX C172 using the Shift+ or the FSX menu

You may just need to tick "show all variations" in the aircraft selection UI. I can't recall, but this may be unticked by default.

Thanks for your patience by the way Jeff. Sometimes with so may different add-ons and user configs in play, it's tricky to pin down what causing an issue on the system of one particular customer. I'll check if Lewis or anyone else has any bright ideas...

Hello Jeff,

Nicks just asked me to pop in.

I would at this stage recommend a full clean reinstall of the C172 as that way we know if its a 172 issue or an FSX issue.

1- Uninstall 172
2- Delete any and all leftover files from the install in your fsx folder, simobjects folder, and also your documents A2A folders etc
3- Restart your system
4- Reinstall 172
5- Run Accu-sim updater for FSX
6- Restart system

Then give it a new flight load in the sim and see how you get on with a new free flight.

If that doesn't work the issue would be pointing towards a corrupt FSX installation. Though rare they have been known to occur in which a sim is reporting being SP2 updated but if in fact running in a more box or SP1 state and so certain SP2 functions no longer work. One of those would be the custom panels in complex simulations including our own Accu-sim range of products. Though rare to occur an FSX 'repair' would normally correct that particular issue but I'd for sure like to see how you get on with a complete clean reinstall of the 172 first just in case an errand corrupt file in the aircraft itself is causing the strange issue you are encountering.

if a totally clean 172 installtion hasnt changed it for you then an FSX Repair might be in order.

I would recommend these days upgrading to steam editon if possible as its much easier to maintain comes all updated and has its own built in repair function as part of steam itself.
