Rain effects (rain drops on windshield)

Hi,

My Cessna 172 windshield effects have disappeared. I can see rain drops on "Cockpit" only view, but not on "Virtual Cockpit" view. I re-downloaded and re-installed the C172, but still having the problem. I am flying in P3DV4.5, could this be the issue? Otherwise, why are drop effects on windshield missing?

Hi Bob,

Are you using ActiveSky weather or the default weather in P3Dv4?

Also, have you made sure the 172 is updated to the latest version? The 172 installer should do this automatically if your PC is connected to the internet when you run it. If you can confirm the version number of the aircraft we can tell for sure (you can see this if you click its entry in the Windows list of installed programs).

I am using P3D weather. The build code is 18.4.22.0 for Accu-sim C172 for P3DV4

Okay, thanks for the info Bob.

Sounds like it's still the original version (before rain effects were added) which is installed on your PC.

You should find a shortcut in the Windows Start Menu under "A2A Simulations": "C182 Check For Updates P3D4". If you click on this you should be able to download the latest content including the rain effects.

If this shortcut is missing, please can you let us know if any antivirus software was running when you installed the 182, and if so, from which provider?

Okay Nick, think I've got it... now installed update 19.12.27.0 and see rain drops on windshield in Virtual Cockpit view.
