Good morning from Germany,
using the C 172 A2A in P3DV4, i cannot assign the axis to the throttle and get it wrking properly.
I use the "Axis Throttle set"
Funny is, that i also cannot apply throttle using my mouse....
Throttle setting in other planes, eg. FS Labs A320, work perfectly.
Any suggestions ?
cheers !
Rick

Re: FSUIPC (payed) and Axis assignment
Hi Rick and welcome to the A2A forums.
The FSUIPC "axis throttle set" action should work fine. Please can you let us know exactly what issue it is you're seeing when you try to control the throttle?
For example, does the throttle lever in the virtual cockpit not move as expected, or is it the engine performance itself which is the issue?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: FSUIPC (payed) and Axis assignment
thx for answering!
the throttle will move erratical with slight changes in throttle axis. It goes fully forward, and seems to dissapear into the dashboard. Moving the throttle (saitek) does not cause the airplane throttle to do the same move...

Re: FSUIPC (payed) and Axis assignment
Okay, thanks for clarifying.
Sounds like it might be a control conflict. Do you have any other software which may be affecting the throttle axis?
To troubleshoot, I recommend you start by taking FSUIPC out of the equation (temporarily move or rename the DLL) and see if the throttle responds as expected if you just use the throttle assignment in P3Dv4 itself.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: FSUIPC (payed) and Axis assignment
Hmmm,
where is FSUIPC.DLL ??
cannot find it...

… i found it, and renamed it.
Then assigned a throttle axis in p3d
same Problem,, erratic moves of the throttle...

Re: FSUIPC (payed) and Axis assignment
Have you checked for a conflict in the mapping?
It certainly sounds like you have two things mapped to the same function and so both are fighting for control.
thanks,
Lewis

Hi Rick,
Yes, now that we seem to have ruled FSUIPC out, do you have any other software running (e.g. Saitek software) which is also used for making control assignments?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: FSUIPC (payed) and Axis assignment
You could also have two controllers attempting to do the same function in the sim itself. Frequently I see “throttle “ linked to an axis on every controller in the controllers config page. Example, throttle may be linked to rudder and joystick, yoke, etc. Can’t have it that way so you must configure your controllers to ignore the throttle, (or any other axis) except for the controller with the actual throttle and that eliminates any conflicts.
This is where FSUIPC Shines! In my P3D controller configuration, I have “controllers enabled†but actually have configured all controllers to have NO functions. Then I use FSUIPC exclusively to use the controllers. I then create a unique setup for each aircraft type.
I have a yoke, throttle quadrant with multiple functions (I made from the guts of a game controller), joystick with separate throttle, rudders, and a Cessna switch panel. By disabling all in P3D’s controller setup, there are no conflicts. By using FSUIPC’s ability to create a unique profile for every aircraft type, I can mix and match controllers to be correct for each aircraft type. You wouldn’t (necessarily) want to use the same controllers for helicopters as a Cessna, or fighter jet, or commercial airliner.
