fuel flow not moving when priming

Post by shaggydog »

Hi,

I've searched and not found a solution for this:

When I prime, the fuel flow needle does not move to indicate that fuel is flowing.

I have checked and double-checked that the fuel cutoff valve is in
fuel tanks are set to both
Have done a complete overhaul in the maintenance hanger several times
Have tried updating using the A2A updater

When I'm priming, the master switch is on, I turn the fuel pump on, and then I advance the mixture to full rich. The needle does not move after 5 seconds. Have also tried waiting longer than 5 seconds and still does not work.

ctrl-e does start the engine. Note, when using ctrl-E the fuel flow indicator does not move.

Perhaps not related, the gyro is not level, and the gyro flag does not go away when the master is on.

Any help would be appreciated.

You didn't mention it so I'll ask if you cracked the throttle open a quarter inch first before the next steps of fuel pump and mixture full.

I crack the throttle, mixture full, then fuel pump on until the needle hits the beginning on the green arc and turn of the pump quickly so it doesn't over prime.
Take care, Brett

When priming a real Cessna, if memory serves me correctly, the gauge just barely moves up. Hard to notice if you’re not looking directly at it. In Florida, we primed it to when the gauge just barely moved and that was enough.

Hello,

which sim platform are you using, can you tell us a little more technical and give us a little more context of your setup, how you are loading etc so we can better help troubleshoot if its a technical issue.

thanks,
