Hi
New install. Controls calibrated and re-calibrated both in windows and FSUIPC. Throttle and RPM only works in the middle range of the throttle control. I have to advance and retard the throttle more than one half inch in either direction before the RPM engages which leaves only a short range in the middle which is also very abrupt when it does engage. Not good. Yes, I have the controls turned off in P3D. Please advise.
Thank you.
Phil

Hello,
Please can you check your calibration and also let us know what hardware you are using?
Can you map the hardware via the included Joystick Config application?
thanks,
Lewis

Re: P3D v2 Throttle not working properly in C172
Hi Lewis
I located the problem which was on my end and applied the fix. All is well. One question though: Is there a way to speed up the elevator trim. I have it mapped to the CH yoke keys but even manually with the mouse seem rather slow? No big deal just asking.
Thanks for the rapid response. Much appreciated.

Hi again Lewis,
I just discovered the Input Configurator. Where do I find info on using and setting this up or do I even need it? I guess this is what you were referring to that came with C-172?
Thanks again
Phil

Re: P3D v2 Throttle not working properly in C172
Hello Phil,
The trim speed is simulated to be realistic, it will speed up as you hold the button but will not go as fast as other aircraft which have it set so fast that the trim can be used as a primary control surface.
The input configurator is the preferred method for mapping the custom controls in our aircraft, the mappings done with the input config will only affect the aircraft the mapper is designed for.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: P3D v2 Throttle not working properly in C172
Did not know axis assignments in configurator were just for that plane. Will they override assignments in FSUIPC and/or P3D or do you have to remove them from FSUIPC and uncheck Enable Controls in P3D?
Re: P3D v2 Throttle not working properly in C172
Hi again Lewis
Terrydew posed the question that I was about to ask. I assume I would not use FSUIPC or P3D controls and would deactivate them?
Also is there any instructions on how to program the C172 configurator?
Thank you
Phil

Hello Guys,
the Joystick app helps map some of the custom controls we use. Its dead simple to use and kind of explains itself when you open it. Just make sure to click save and away you go.
If you are moving beyond the basics then you might need this thread here to help you map some of the more advanced areas of hardware controls within the sim;
