C172 and p3d Vs 4

Post by Paulcoy »

A few days ago, I bought the C172 trainer. It did say at the start that it is compatible with P3d Vs4, however on installation the highest P3d version was 3. I assumed this was a typo and continued installing. All went well until loading the aircraft, then I noticed I had no engine sound and avionics wasn't working either. BTW cockpit noise and runway noise are fine. Any help would be much appreciated Many thanks Paul

There are two installers in the download. You will need to use the P3D 4 installer.
Flight Simmer since 1983. PP ASEL IR Tailwheel
N28021 1979 Super Viking 17-30A

Hello Paul,

Yes, as Oracle says there are separate installers for 32-bit (P3D v1-3) and 64-bit (P3D v4) versions of Prepar3D. You should see separate download links on the store page, so sounds like you may just need to download the correct version of the installer.

Thanks,

I have just taken a screenshot of the installer (which I can't see how to upload) And there are absolutely no options mentioned either installing or on the store page.

Hi Paul,

There are some tips here on sharing images. Did you purchase direct from the A2A store or from another third-party store?

Thanks,

Thanks Paul.

Yes, that's the old 32-bit installer for P3Dv3 and earlier. For P3Dv4 you need the 64-bit version of the product. The installer is available from a separate downlink link in the store as shown below (the image uses the example of the Comanche, but the same principal applies for the 172).

Anyway, it's the download link labelled for P3Dv4 which you need to click (the one at the bottom).
