Elevator trim setting in Flight Yoke System

Post by Eugene Kremlev »

Hello, guys! I replaced the Saitek X-55 with a Logitech Flight Yoke System. But in the Yoke System there are no additional axes except for the main ones, so I assigned the elevator trim on a buttons on yoke through FSUIPC. But now the trimmer speed is very low compared to the axes, and need to hold the button a long time. I did not begin to edit the .sfg file since I consider the settings to be etalon. Is there a solution for Flight Yoke System in to get a normal trimmer speed from a button via FSUIPC?

Hello,

if you use the included Input configuration application you can remove FSUIPC out of the equation and have correct trim controls for your 172 simulation.

thanks,

No worries. Just remember the aircraft input configuration application only affects the aircraft it is for. So setting this for the aircraft will not affect any other aircraft, so no special profiles etc needed etc.

Hi, I use Thrustmaster's T. Flight Hotas One (as shown in the figure) and I would - with your help - achieve the following results:
  • decrease the sensitivity of ailerons
  • increase the elevator trim speed
Is it possible to do it with the input configurator?

Thank you.

Hi Freccia and welcome,

The input configurator doesn't allow you to assign trim function to a hat switch. However, you can use it with axes or normal buttons on your joystick.

Alternatively, if you own a registered copy of FSUIPC you can use it for more advanced control assignment options.

Aileron sensitivity can be adjusted in the FSX/P3D control settings.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply Nick.
Yes, I have a registered version of FSUIPC (I used this to assign hat switches to the UP-DOWN trim).

However, I would like the movement speed of the trims to be faster. Can I do it with FSUIPC? How? (sorry I'm not very experienced)

Thanks

Hi Freccia,

If you have a registered copy of FSUIPC, there are a couple of techniques you can use.

The simplest option is to assign your hat switch movements to key presses in FSUIPC and then map the corresponding key presses to the "yoke trim up" and "yoke trim down" functions in the C172 input configurator.

Alternatively you could use the "offset sword" function for trim in FSUIPC - there's a bit more info describing this approach here. Note that you can adjust the parameter value (specifically the integer before the "/") to control the exact trim rate for each button press event.

Thanks,
