Post by scarter »

when you fill each tank to 100%, why does the left tank say 26 gal. and the right tank says 27 gal.?

Hi,

Just tested it, the wing fuel indication under "Shift+4" gives in both tanks 27 (100%) gallons. At the bottom where it reads total fuel, says 26.5 each (for left and right tanks) I tested under FSX:Acceleration.
Hint: try to empty the tanks and fill them again. What is the sim you are seeing this?

am using FSX. you are right in the fact that in the lower left of the shift 4 page it shows each tank with 26.5 gal (100%)...But when you put the curser over the right tank, it shows 26.5 gal. and 100% and over the left tank it shows 27.0 gal and 100%.

Hi,

I guess the hint over the wing then takes it's value from the bottom numbers. ;) May be A2A team will share more light on this at some point.

maybe it's an FSX thing, Just started mine and as soon as the engine started, the tool tip showed 26 gallon.
Kind Regards

Hi,

Interesting fact the A2A C172 manual says 28 gallons capacity for each tank, yet the model is limited to 27 per tank (in FSX). Also according to manual usable fuel is 26.5 per tank, exactly as shown at the bottom of screen "Shift+4". I was wondering whether FSX and the different versions of Prepar3d show the usable fuel in the tanks as total fuel or engines begin to starve when very little amount of fuel is left. Probably gotta do some tests.

The 'official' figure is 56 gallons total; 53 gallons usable. So 28 and 26.5 per side, respectively.

Edit: remember that this unusable fuel is included in the empty weight you find in the w&b sheet. Can't remember how it was in the load manager.
