Actually PV it was the cover of the 'Animals' album.

The first track of which is called 'Pigs on the Wing' which might be rather fitting all things considered although 'Welcome to the Time Machine' would fit BoBII very well too!

Incidentally, 'Welcome to the Time Machine' is the second track on 'Wish You Were Here'.

Methinks I spent too much time listening to Floyd as a teenager!

Oooh! I could have fun with that!

Interesting bit of info ... HERE.

Seems during the war it was only half as big, stacks numbers 3 and 4 not being built until 1955.

"Sir Giles Gilbert Scott was commissioned to design the building. His other buildings include Liverpool Cathedral, Bankside Power Station,
Waterloo Bridge and the classic red telephone box."

Trying to find an image from the two-stack period, but all I could get was an altavista thumbnail for an image which seems
to be no longer linked:

OK, two more:

Still not terribly useful.

That's also a large beast, a former power station, and also designed by GG Scott, but it was post war, so not a candidate.

I'll see if I can find some more this week. I'm off to Sutton library soon, so I'll have a look there.
Best regards.

Excellent pic. Well done. It also seems to indicate that one of the ones I found, which claimed to be from the 30's actually isn't,
as it shows two smokestacks beside each other on the waterfront. I was trying to square that with the blow-up of the thumbnail,
which is more in agreement with your pic - in fact, from what I can discern of the thumbnail, it appears to be taken from exactly
the same vantage point and at the same time of day and year (based on shadows) as this one, but with a different wind
direction and sky conditions.

Osram,

I don't have too much spare time at the moment, but if you'd like to try getting a Gmax model into work I have this. It's a very simple low poly
affair that would be quick for me to mod as required.

edit - added higher res image.

That is really great news! So the sim will be refined further with new models :D

I'd suggest a few additions to the list of aircraft. What about a Vickers Wellington?
And since there are a number of continental planes there, what about a Curtiss Hawk? The French had quite a number of them...
Or a Morane-Saulnier MS.406/410 to go with the Bloch MB.152?

And of course a detailed model for the Defiant.
Runter kommen sie alle...

Is this of any use? Pretty rough but 63 kb. No texture file yet. From the black and white pic posted here. Do you have any shots of the sides? They would be handy :)

Looks good :)
Should be fairly easy to convert.
Obviously it would need a skin, do you want to do it yourself or just map it and have a skinner paint the skin?
We could set you up to convert the model yourself.
What modelling program do you use?

PS: What output/export formats does the program support?

Hi. Thanks osram, glad you like it :)

Program is anim8or, a free simple to use program available here.

http://www.anim8or.com/main/index.html

Anim8or is quite powerful and has a very small footprint. It does have trouble with Vista though on some machines. There are several reasonably active forums and many good tutorials for it. I have been using it for 18 months.

From memory all the models and animation were made in anim8or for this avi ..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlcUcwb92rA

It exports in obj and 3ds file format as w ell as others (I have to check them when I get home).

I'm happy to let someone else skin the battersea model if they like.

By map do you mean UV map If so that is no problem? I have uvmapper pro which will give an mtl file.

Does the obj file have to be closed? IE all the poly's filled. If not I can remove the bottom poly's where they touch the landscape. It might save some file size? Not sure.

cheers

Ok.
Actually we can try to use the *.obj directly (without converting in a 3rd party tool like 3D Exploration first). *.obj is a very simple (no advanced features) but quite robust format.

Ok. Any takers? BTW I think we could still use some more RL photos ays reference.

Yes. UV mapping is the job of the 3D modeller (the person) and not of the skinner.

BTW does BoB already have some 3D objects where this should go?

Please remove the bottom.
