Well I am back, and I have a request

Post the_soupdragon »

does anyone have a link so I can download the radiosound mod I made about a million years ago? I have lost it yet again in another HDD crash.

Also I have just (literally) downloaded the 2.07 patch with MultiSkins. i am looking forward to getting back into the saddle with BoB (so to speak)

Congrats to all involved on theh BDG for the great update.

I still have access to the Beta forum so if possible I will try to help in anyway i can.

Cheers

SD

You mean the one wich disables the annoying "I can't keep up" or "shoot, shoot!" ?
It's included in 2.07. Open your BDG.txt in the main folder, and set the line "PERMIT_ANNOYING_RADIO_CHATTER:" to "OFF" . Voilá, they're gone.

Soupdragon, I have the rar files for the RAF and LW files; PM me your email address and I'll send them to you.

I found the original thread but the download links are no longer valid.

Yesterday I had 3 minutes to try this sound mod. Well, it's pretty good, the idea is superb, but still, there's something wrong with it. I don't intend to ruin your work, Soupdragon, but these files sound a bit like a "robot" for me, and not like an old R/T. It lacks something. My idea would be to cut the treble a little, so the sound become a little more "closed". It's an awesome job you did, it just needs some improvements IMHO.

The bandpass for old audio was typically about 450 to 5000Hz, with a pretty sloppy roll-off, and a nasty resonance peak somewhere in the middle. If you're old enough, think of the sound from an old bakelite wall phone. Anyway, they did better with treble than with bass. The sound was "tinny" rather than rumbly.
