Get a good pair of walking boots,an A -Z map guide of London and Walk.
You can walk from Tower Bridge all the way along the Thames embankment to the Houses of Parliament.
If you do that you can see,Tower bridge,Tower of London,HMS Belfast, the BoB monument ,the London Eye,Cleopatras needle,Pudding lane monument,Cutty Sark, ooooh tons of stuff and all free to look at.
Yes! Trumper, I did that and enjoyed it immensely - nothing beats a walk. Took a trip to Greenwich too on Thames river boat and the double decker tour!

Reflected - you will have a blast!

Hello Reflected
I'll be there for a week in March as well.
RAF Hendon is about 20 to 30 min via Northern line just make sure you get the Edgware branch. Then it's a few minutes walk along main road heading NE. If you're interested, Hannants model shop which was next door to the tube exit have moved just passed the RAF Museum.
Imperial War Museum is a must as well.
Cabinet War Rooms
Britain at War Experience in Tooley street gives a Home Front view of things.
But this is London and there is so much to see covering different interests, if you can squeeze an extra day or two do so.
Will you be touring other parts of Britain? Like Dover, which has the Castle and Secret Wartime Tunnels.

Hendon used to run a shuttle bus from the Tube station to the entrance. Sign of the times I guess, but not everyone is fit enough for the walk (my father appreciated it the last time we were there, which was several years ago).

IWM is a must as well, and there's the National army museum as well on Hospital Road, near Chelsea Barracks.
