Not sure when it was introduced, but the 'wargame' map in 2.13, like the in-flight map, is more of a satellite view. Which is useful to a great degree, but less realistic, as a representation of the style of a real Ops Room map.
I think the stock BoB2 Ops Room map was more like 'the real thing' and having seen one at the Uxbridge bunker recently, I'm thinking that maybe I'd prefer that version. The subscriber mods thread is not the easiest to find stuff in and I've searched the forums with no joy - so hence the question. Short of re-installing and saving the stock map's image file(s) (in the Map_* folders?) before updating, is there a mod or another way of reverting to a more realistic Ops Room map?
TIA!

Re: Non-satellite version of Ops Room map?
Afraid not. When the busier map (basically, it is the map textures for the zoomed version of the original campaign map)
was built, it was enthusiastically embraced by the active BDG majority at the time (I doubt it would have been by the
membership a few years earlier), and no thought was given to providing an automated alternative option. When users
complained about this, a swap out mechanism was slated to be added, but lack of time and skilled manpower meant that
it slid down the to-do list until it was lost, as I imagine those determined to have the option fetched the old files from
the install CD, so there was no "squeaky wheel" going on about it. I found a link to a file set which was posted around that
time for people to use, but it was dead by 2012.

Re: Non-satellite version of Ops Room map?
Hi Lima, I'm not sure wich map do you want but if you are talking about the operations room map over the table you can find the files installing original bob2 game, there are many folders and files so hardly someone will have it to share.
So make a backup from your game folder, make a clean install of bob2 original game, then copy the following 2 Folders to your desktop:
Map_32a
Map_64p
And delete inside all these folders the "DIR.dir" files cause you need only the .bmp textures (each folder has its own dir.dir file). So it will use the original DIR.dir from 2.13 patch that may be different from 2.0 version.
Then install again patch 2.13 over this new clean original bob since you have to add the 2.13 registry to windows again. Then delete this new 2.13 game and rename back your old 2.13 backup game to "Battle of Britain II" and copy these 2 folders to your game folder (But before make a backup from these 2 folders of your 2.13 original files if you want to revert back again)

As I play 2.01 Patch I remembered it uses the old Operations Room Map so I uploaded here:

Tested with Patch 2.13 and it works!

Re: Non-satellite version of Ops Room map?
Many thanks Felizpe, that has restored the earlier map! I needed to copy over the did.dir files from my backed-up 2.13 map folders, then all was well.
I can understand, PV, why many preferred the new map, as it's objectively superior in many ways, but it rather diminishes the 'time machine' effect, at least for me, having nowseen the real thing as preserved at Uxbridge.
Anyway thanks again to Felizpe, I'm now looking forward to resuming my RAF campaign with the new/old map:

Re: Non-satellite version of Ops Room map?
Your welcome 33Lima3, never noticed how realistic the old map was comparing to the real Operations Room Map! Well, as it's a simulator I think original map suits better
