Indeed, there is a nice BoBII mod out at the moment that is actually rather darker than the default terrain[quote]
Do you mean the textures by Killdevil ? Very interesting thread BTW.

No, I was thinking of the Cellinsky terrain, actually.
Counting killdevil's, there are quite a number of choices now and each has its own look and feel, which is good I think..

I was looking at the different img00xx files in the different releases the other day, and I noticed the ones from BoBI-v.99 are darker and greener than the BoBII release ones, if that's what you're after. They are .pcx files, though, and would have to be converted to .dds. Might be just as simple to open up the BoBII files in an editor and tweak the hue and saturation.
Another possibility is to go hunting for good contemporary aerial pix to use, on one of the map sites. You'd have to work out what size they ought to be, but I wonder if you might not be able to find some good stuff. I would think british folk would know where (on the map) to go to find chunks of terrain that haven't changd much in 65 years.

Finally downloaded & installed over a fresh install of BoB & patch( don't ask...) Veddy veddy nice, Soup Dragon! Finally the good people of Brighton ( a town I know welll) can don their bathing costumes :There is sunshine over Southern England ( and France I suspect!)I haven't viewed the changes form high up , but low level I actually felt warm in the cockpit. Now I have a question to ask.On my previous install I used every landscape /building patch I could download, but now I wonder which I should do at a minimum & not throw a spanner into what looks terrific as is..the cliff changes ? Water colour changes?Aerodrom & building changes? What about "shimmer "issues?

Reint (Using at the moment the original Bob2 terrain again....Flying at dawn the terrain is suberb.........Just curious about other options)
BTW flying with new videocard (7800 AGP series) with smooth fps (24 average) with high/ max settings without serious ctd's...
