Obituary: An actor to remember

Post by BoxMike »

Richard Todd.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0865262/
One excellent source FlyPast May 2005.
I saw 'Dam Busters' as a kid. Later I learned that Todd had participated into para operations during WWII including D-Day. Nevertheless, I bought the 'Dam Busters' from HMV from Trafford Mall in 1999 and have been enjoying it; even without Finnish titles.

Richard Todd was an enlisted man in the glider troops which participated in the capture of Pegasus Bridge which sealed the left of the invasion area on D-Day. Then he played the part of the commander in the movie, "The Longest Day" - - - "Hold until relieved."

We visited Pegasus Bridge in September, but I could not post a picture of it.
