Here be a sticky post where folks can keep their modifications, so that we need not search for them.
Feel free to add mods that others have made, and that you favor, also.
For example, there must be a dozen Merlin engine and .303 gun sound mods scattered about the forum.

It is hard to find all the mods here, so I am going to make an attempt at putting up a running list of most of the mods here at page 1.
This will take some time, and will constantly be changing.
In most cases I will only link to a modder's last versions, as they often constantly refine their work to be better.
1. Sounds
Boreas mods:
- His BoB2 Sound Mods Pack made in December 2011.
DL: http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/2/3/2 ... 0JSGME.zip
Info here: http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/vie ... 75#p208291
(I personally use his RAF engine sounds, and many other sounds here.)
- His December 2011, LW engine start up sounds. (Note! Files are shared with RAF aircraft)
Info & DL here, with two choices: http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/vie ... 75#p204921
- His later, December, 2011, .303 gun sounds. Many variations.
Info & DL here: http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/vie ... 90#p210245
(I personally use one of these x8 .303 guns versions. Which one? I forgot.)

Re: Subscriber Modifications
Nice one stickman,
I shall try with my modification of your EPI gauge. This has two rings, one at 400 m one at 800 m. Hopefully this will help people to judge distance better. If you do decide to use this you will need to save or rename your existing files. And then unzips the contents into your 2-D gauges folder.

Mid-air collisions and rolling-on-ground sounds.
http://files.filefront.com/reflected+ef ... einfo.html
This contains 2 sound files which go to the SmapleHI folder. Make sure you back up the original ones. This adds a nice sound when you're rolling on the ground, and also replaces the door-closing-like mid-air collision sound by something more realistic.

Alternative Merlin and Browning Sounds
Here is a link to download my set of replacement RAF engine gun and cockpit sounds. To try these in the game, either use the Jone soft generic mod enabler or take backup copies of the original sounds in the SampleHI folder (or backup whole folder) and replace them with these.

Re: Subscriber Modifications
ALL,
This is an alternate CIRRUS and NIMBUS dds size textures ... basically lowering the memory requirement for the clouds when set on HIGH.
I hate to run the weather detail low, and the high detail looks so much better, albeit the fps hit.
If it's any help, I did my own mod where I resized the clouds to a texture memory friendly size of 128x128 and 256x256. (cirrus.dds and the nimbus.dds)
The games original size are 512x512 at ~ 257kb, DXT5.
My new sizes are :
1. 128x128 ~ 22kb, DXT5.
2. 256x256 ~ 86kb, DXT5.
I've shown a remarkable increase in FPS and the clouds look the same, IMO.
If you're interested you can d/l here ;
http://files.filefront.com/bob2+128+256 ... einfo.html
Install instructions ;
1. Backup your WEATHER folder (or just the two files named CIRRUS.DDS and NIMBUS.DDS)
2. Open the zip file and you'll see two folders ... 128 and 256.
3. Pick the folder containing the size you want and unzip the two DDS files to your weather folder.
Of course, use at your own risk ... I've tested them and have no problem.
Frankly, I think for the sake of the older system's, perhaps they could resize more DDS's ... but these days the older system are far and few between.
Let me, us, or whomever know if these help at all.
Rob
NOTE : Screenshot attachment is viewing the 128x128 dds. My screen res is 1920x1200 but the image is reduced and optimized to fit here.
NOTE #2 : I'm running the following detail options ;
- wx detail=high
- object quality=max
- texture quality=max
- ground object density=full
- horizon distance=medium

Re: Subscriber Modifications
I have just done a modification to my version of stickman's enemy position indicator. It now has an inner ring. So if you get the red dot to straddle (cover) the inner line. Your target will be 250 yards in front of you.
If you only wish to use the EPI. You will only need to replace EPI_Trans.PCX with my version. Do not forget to rename your old version. If you wish to use all of my screen layout. I suggest you rename your 2Dgauges and then load mine directly into your Battle of Britain II directory.
You will find these files on my website, under: http://www.g0dcp.co.uk/flight_simulation.html and then click on 2Dgauges_prems. They are zipped up in rar format.
Just enjoy.

That may be a 3-month time-out - I just picked one up again a week and a half or so ago and it was working then...
Re: Subscriber Modifications
Thanks Baza for spotting that my downloads were not working. I have replaced the old links with some new ones.

Re: Subscriber Modifications
I think this has got a little lost.
(Cleaner) High Resolution Cockpit glass
There is a mod to allow better visibility. The glass is higher res and slightly cleaner all round, so things a less 'misty'.
It's noted at the bottom of the 2.09 release text (which in turn references the 2.08 release (when it came out))
http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/vie ... 17&start=0
High res Glass mod: HERE-> http://www.a2asimulations.com/bob_dev/P ... CKPM16.rar (2M) <-HERE
This increases the resolution of the Spitfire glass so that the oval punch out section is less blurred. This panel, along with external armour on the front windscreen and a flat sided sliding canopy section, was highly characteristic of the Mk1 Spitfire.
Since it takes more texture memory, those with very low end gfx cards may not wish to use it. Files are included for all aircraft. The glass is slightly cleaner than in the official updates.
Unpack these files to your Battle of Britain II\cockpm16 folder, replacing the existing ones.

Re: Subscriber Modifications
There's a really useful free utility for installing mods - the Jones Generic Mod Enabler - lets you install and uninstall mods without having to rename/delete/overwrite files.

Re: Subscriber Modifications
Baza,
JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler
Yes, this a good mod installer that works with just about any game.
I used to assemble my mods with it, but no one seemed to use it,
so I went back to "Manually Backup, then Extract to the BoBII root" form.
I think I will go back to using JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler, and assembling my mods with it,
so users can have Automatic Backup, and Mod Installation.
To remove an unwanted mod, the users needs only to open JSGME, select a mod for removal, click, and it is out, with backups automatically installed again.
Very easy to use.
It will not work with mods that need files to be removed from game, but I had to ask users to do that only once, so far.
