RR2020stock 2.13 tree update.

Trees placed at coltishall, dover, hornchurch, lympne, gravesend, sheerness, selsey and some existing areas expanded.

Place files in objectadds folder and overwrite old files.

Edit: Wont work properly on normal 2.13 stock terrain.

This is a greener version of my 2020 stock 2.13 terrain edit.

GET IT HERE:https://www.mediafire.com/file/lpaf9bc2 ... EN.7z/file

fartiles goes to Landscap folder.

Are these terrain colours historically correct? How the hell would I know....I wasn't there. All that I do know is that I enjoy a greener BOB2 terrain, probably a throwback to when I was a kid building my Airfix 24th scale Spitfire and fantasizing about a Bob which was staged above a green UK terrain. Blame it on library books containing pictures of lush green Uk landscapes that I used to love browsing through at the time. :wink:

Experimenting I was with the blendmap road textures with some interesting results. It looks nice in some areas, not so nice in others. Give it a try :

Backup the blendmap.dds file in the Imagemap16 folder and replace it with this one.

I've replaced the hedgerow base with a narrow road texture. I recommend you use the blank treeline texture(uploaded with the RRSTOCK TERRAIN EDIT a few posts back) to remove the hedgerows which don't work that well with the added tree placements and look a bit of a mess in the Dover area.
I will provide another version without the island/line in the middle which will hopefully look better around the airfields.

I had a look at the sea reflections and haze which are tied together. I found there are are quite few related texture files including the normal map files that are not actually used. A more glassy sea will mean more haze in the sky but can also produce unrealistically light coloured autogen trees (I'll post some lighter stock ground textures which much reduce this in good weather). I might not fully understand how the the fresnel files controlling this work and the stock ones seems to do a good job. But I maybe reduced this effect on the trees and increasing the resolution of these files seems to reduced the occasional appearance of edge lines in the sea at low level. Adjusting the the sky reflections effects the sea colour especially if you make it more green by editing the bdg.txt file. I have these bdg settings to do this:

WATER_COLOUR_DARK_R = 50
WATER_COLOUR_DARK_G = 70
WATER_COLOUR_DARK_B = 60

I have two blendmap road textures, one with white lines and one without. I'm not sure that there were white lines on roads back then. Ive used the blend map road texture to rework the city texture roads resulting in more of a contrast between road and pavement colours.

edit: These should work with Martins terrain as well, though I haven't tested it.

Hi rogeroger.

The line markings are fine according to Wikipedia:

'In the UK, the first "white line" road markings appeared on a number of dangerous bends on the London-Folkestone road at Ashford, Kent, in 1914, and during the 1920s the rise of painted lines on UK roads grew dramatically. In 1926 official guidelines were issued by the Ministry of Transport that defined where and how white lines on roads should be used: A broken white line in the direction of travel, where the gaps are longer than the painted lines, indicates the centre of the road and that there are no hazards specific to the design and layout of the road, i.e. no turnings, sharp bends ahead etc. A broken white line in which the gaps are shorter than the painted lines indicates an upcoming hazard.'
