*
ANNOUNCEMENT Sunday 13th July 2008
* Our sincere apologies. An infrequent crash is being reported in AI gunner code
(It can occur in missions with any movable gun [bombers, Bf110, Ju87]).
* If you have such a problem, please follow this thread and update the two files contained in the small download. (bob.exe, bob.pdb)

* We have been testing for a long time and this one sneaked through, unfortunately...Sorry! This is one of the risks when you add new AI features.

Hi Bader,

just a thought Sir: what about a dedicated thread entitled to the first 2.08 patch/hotfix?

It would be helpful and more visible.

Kind regards,
J

There is one "folder" and two files (just open the folder):

file #1 is the BOBII EXE file (bob.exe)
fle #2 is the BOBII pdp file (bob.pdp)

Instructions (for your 2.08 install)

1. After downloading and unpacking (with rar), paste the EXE and pdb files into your BOBII folder right over your 2.08 install files.

Squigs, please try this:
Right click the link in your browser and say "download link target" or so.

Yes, in firefox you need to right click and "SAVE AS". Then unpack and you'll have two files that go into your \Battle of Britain folder\, bob.exe and bob.pdb. Should take no more than a few seconds.

Jethro, I think this fix is reasonably low key as it's intermittent. I have spoken with a number of people who haven't had it at all. Now maybe they aren't flying to the same degree that you are (and consequently they are missing out! ;)) but I don't presently feel it's a showstopping bug. It's an annoyance with a quick fix available. A shame that we had it. no doubt, though.

I've not been playing BOBII for a while, as i've been waiting for this patch.
Gonna download it now and start again :D

Thanks!

One quick question....
Which file is the bdgtxt file? I can't seem to be able to find it. Has its name been changed from 2.07?

Thanks,

Keith.

No, it hasn't moved. Many settings are in your \Battle of Britain II\bdg.txt file.

If you do a new install from the CD, then update with patch, without running up the game, and you don't have your own bdg.txt file
you've saved to add to the install, you won't see a bdg.txt file in the install. The file is generated after the first time you run the
game, but there is none written during the install.

One quick question, if i may ;)

Is the "big" patch patched or is that package not going to be updated with this hotfix?

Just to know which one to archive ;) I'd much rather have one file, but hey, i can probably unpack and repack the update itself with fixed files.

We can't really mess with the external download sites regularly, I'm afraid. If you want this Hot Fix please add it on top of 2.08.

It'll go into the next update soon enough. I have a feeling that will be an interim 2.081 or somesuch to include some ground objects that didn't make 2.08.

I'm just back from the french tour, I was really sad, but 2.08 mad me a bit happier. It's an outstanding update, hats off, and thank you so much!

PS: when I press options-> adv-> game then I have a CTD.

BoB 2.08 untouched:
