Hi reflected
The Optios->Adv->Game works here:
I think you may have a problem with your install as no has reported the issue (about 1300 2.08 downloads so far).
If you did not do a fresh install (just ran the self loaders). Please follow these instructions to try and ensure a perfect install:
Each Step is Important
1. back up your Bdg.txt, savegame, and keyboard file/folders (these are the files you need to save all your setting and joystick buttons/settings)
2. download the 2.08 self installer
3. Uninstall old version or BoBII
4. Defrag hard drive
5. Delete all files from the BoBII folder. IMPORTANT: These old files left by the uninstaller can cause issues with the new EXE.
6. Run a registry cleaner (like CC cleaner - a free program) as you had an old install of BobII
7. Reinstall BoBII game CD or Download version
8. Run 2.08 patch self-loaders (only 2.08 patch)
9. Paste the saved Bdg.txt, savegame, and keyboard file/folders into your BOBII folder (this restores all your settings and joystick buttons you had)
BOBII BDG_2.08 Update Released
Strange, the game works except you crash on option->Adv->gamereflected wrote:I did a fresh install..and at first, it worked..
anything else crash?

Which file is the bdgtxt file? I can't seem to be able to find it. Has its name been changed from 2.07?
Thanks,
Keith.
you've saved to add to the install, you won't see a bdg.txt file in the install. The file is generated after the first time you run the
game, but there is none written during the install.
BTW, how do i get the pilots head to turn like in the screen shots?
Keith.

Had my first 2.08 crash tonight.
Flying Eagle attack for the Luftwaffe. Was in the thick of battle, and had just gone to external pad-lock view when....kaputski. Crashlog below.

Hi Sovien,
Thanks for taking the time to post the crashlog.
This is the one we have not been able to fix. It has been with us so long we have given it a name (The Shader CTD).
It crashes in a windows program d3d9.dll (we do not have windows source code). The Shader CTD has been rare (in fact I have not seen one in a long time [Months]).
We have learned some things about the Shader CTD:
1. External View seems to trigger it
2. Going to the Map over water
3. External View over water
Some day we will nail it. It seems to come and go depending on the current DirectX version which we are up to June, I think.

Hmmm. I patched up and run an initial test ike I always do on the quick mission basic takeoff. But every time after this mission if I try restarting a new mission, I get a quit to desktop. Even the new exe makes no difference.
I`ve had this sim on my drive a long time, so what i`ll do is a complete uninstall and reinstall fresh. See how that goes.

Thanks for the reply, Buddeye. Bummer about the "Shader CTD". First time I've had this one. Will just have to wait out for a fix. Luckily, this is the first time I think I've experienced it so hopefully wont see it again for a while.
Still having a blast with 2.08. The air battle I was in when I experienced this CTD was awesome. Planes all over the sky, RAF airfields getting converted into big dirt holes in the ground, RAF fighters trying desperately to save their airfields. By far, the most fun I've had with the sim since I installed it! Oh, and no Konga line of enemy fighters focused solely on me...the AI was actually fighting the other AI too! Brilliant work!

Yes, the shader CTD is in Microsoft code which is beyond even Buddye's advanced skills and it is rare (I have not personally ever had it). Hope it doesn't wreck your enjoyment too much.

I'm confident it wont. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've experienced it. With all the other amounts of awesome-sauce Buddeye and the gang have done with 2.08 an occassional CTD is not a big deal...it's software afterall, it's gonna happen.Bader wrote: Hope it doesn't wreck your enjoyment too much.
