Decided to go through and improve all the flyable aircraft and other canopy files again. The 110 doesn't use it's canopy file and I can't find any reflector sight glass file for it so only a little difference made with that aircraft, but otherwise I think quite good results.

Thanks Boreas, II appreciate your hard work and making these available. September seems the best time to fire BoB and take my Hurricane squadron up for a hunt.

Good to hear Vox. There are probably few flight combat simulator in a strategy game experiences that are as rewarding, or so I understand. I need to get more into that side of things!

I am using (my re-coloured) stock terrain textures which should match up well with ground objects like farms and trees. Also I use PV’s most recent terrain for Portland and Thanet which there are links to here:

Portland: https://www.mediafire.com/file/lcjfa1k6 ... d.zip/file
Thanet: https://www.mediafire.com/file/hrcc1j4g ... t.zip/file

These two are necessary before many of rogeroger’s very nice and very extensive ground object updates will work. For example they include much improved harbours for Ramsgate, Newhaven and others, cathedrals, railway and airfield locations and buildings, windmills and trees. Not exactly sure how to get the most from them but I would advise that jsgmi should be a must to install these and it would be best to install them in the order they were produced as I guess jsgmi will merge them where there are conflicts using the file provided most recently rather than the newest one. Some combinations might have issues I haven’t sorted out and there are some instructions I haven't read yet particularly about trees but these are links for rogeroger's mods I'm using with good results.

The most recent campaign code by Two27 is in the thread: https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewto ... ip#p474928
and the download link is: https://www.mediafire.com/file/i50bq6v9 ... 04b_213.7z

In the in-game options menu I have the horizon distance set to medium which seems to look best.

I use these settings for auto generated trees in the bdg.txt file in the main game folder:

ENABLE_FOREST_RIM_TREES=ON - - - - # OFF looks okay but ON with 12000 spacing also looks alright to me.
RIM_TREE_DIST_TO_NEXT_TREE = 12000.000000
RIM_TREE_DIST_TO_FOREST = 200.000000

# AutoGen stuff (experimental):
ENABLE_AUTO_GEN=ON
TEMP_AG_SN[15,1]=1192
TEMP_AG_SN[15,2]=62

# AutoGen TreeLine stuff (experimental):
TEMP_AGTL_SN[0]=1192
TEMP_AGTL_SN[1]=63
TEMP_AGTL_SN[2]=62

I use these water colour settings with the mods I use above:

WATER_COLOUR_DARK_R = 64
WATER_COLOUR_DARK_G = 95
WATER_COLOUR_DARK_B = 75
WATER_COLOUR_LIGHT_R = 0
WATER_COLOUR_LIGHT_G = 0
WATER_COLOUR_LIGHT_B = 0

LANDSCAPE_TEXTURE_SIZE = 4096

MULTI_SKIN_MODE=ENABLE - for all the added aircraft skins

Thanks Boreas. It’s interesting to read Two27’s campaign notes and his plans again…. 😢 I still like to use the campaign to give purpose to flying, even though there are a errors here and there,

I certainly hope to get into the campaign at some point provided I can get better at not being shot down and pick up all the required squadron skills. From what I’ve seen its what its all about, every mission being different, dynamic and a part of a very big picture and from the heyday of gaming :) .

lol..Same here . Survival can be tough in this sim especially playing a single pilot. The nice thing is you can set the strategy and flights up in 2D, then jump into 3D anytime and into any position. Sometimes I’ll be a particular pilot or a squadron (staffel)or section (schwarm) leader or even work as a planner who flys as an observer gunner on a bomber. It’s fun to watch my flights and plan work-or NOT! and there are always surprises. :) Survival is a bit easier as a leader because you decide when and how to engage.

This is a recent experiment, messing around with more transparent stock clouds I thought I'd share. It may be a bit extreme methinks, but anyway here it is. :)

They certainly look less blocky than the stock clouds rogeroger. I think the stock RAF engine sounds might always have been a touch too slow sounding most noticeably on take-off. Raising the pitch a semitone seems to make them a bit more realistic. https://www.mediafire.com/file/4cpsk1co ... h.zip/file

Great idea for the take off sounds. :)
During the covid debacle I spent some time terrain and building modding an Il21946 map.
I discovered some nice summer textures from the 352nd map and I reworked them and have edited them for a new bob2 terrain set.

I am currently working on tree objects for the map.

I added a slight bit of yellow to the textures to more or less match them to this vid.

I like a lot about the martins's terrain but for me there could be more of the south east or the downs in it. There's a great deal of variation to attempt to capture of course but your new terrain looks pretty good rogeroger. I've mentioned before I'm not sure there isn't potential to use up to double the number of terrain tiles, but i haven't found as yet which file, maybe a colour map, would need to be edited to test the idea.

As a curiosity experiment I created city tiles from googlearth images and added objects. The photoreal textures look quite nice at altitude, not as stylised as the stock textures, though they are not as neat up close. They seem to be less sterile than the stock images
