Re: 11 T-6 skins uploaded @ LockOnFiles.com

Yep, and that photo comes from Williams Army Air Field operations (it was originally published in the Williams Army Air Field student pilot's yearbook for 1943). However, if you do a Google search for "Luke Field AT-6", that photo will pop up. In a sense, one could consider it both a Luke ...

Re: Finished Repaints

I know the photo well, that Tom's repaint is based off of, and it should be considered a Williams Field AT-6 (the photo is in the Williams Field student pilot's yearbook for 1943, after all). Regarding AT-6C USAAF Serial No. 41-32120, a record shows that it was involved in a landing accident and gro...

RAF Desert Camo (VH-TXN WIP)

I've been working today on getting this one finished and uploaded (I just need to finish the VC textures and add the Australian flag to the pilot's flight suits). This repaint depicts the Noorduyn-built Harvard Mk.IIb (AT-16) owned/operated by John Rayner in Australia, registered VH-TXN (I believe b...

Re: Look at this beautiful pair!!

Crossing my fingers we'll see P9374 flying again this year! Although I could be wrong, I don't believe it has even had its engine run since before its auction last summer. It finally re-emerged to public viewing at Duxford, fully assembled again, back in December (otherwise it had gone off the radar...

Re: "Popeye" N29931

Here is another local bird that I have finished and uploaded as well (Avsim, Flightsim, and Sim-Outhouse - when available, the file name is jt_a2a_at6_n7090c.zip). This one is also based at Flying Cloud airport, just outside Minneapolis, and is also part of the T-6 Thunder team. The aircraft, an SNJ...

Hey guys,

The file names of all five repaints are:

Re: The repaint request thread

I've collected a bunch of photos of that one (F-AZRD), with the intention of eventually doing it if no one else gets around to it. The nose art on it is artwork by the fantastic French artist Romain Hugault, who does a lot of WWII-themed aircraft and pinup illustration, as well as other vintage-insp...

Re: N7055K (WIP)

I always get the same fatal error/CTD when loading any 4096 textures which have been saved as 32-bit files (64 mbs!). I have more RAM than anyone could shake a stick at, and I still have that problem. So whenever a repaint, such as for the Texan, has any textures saved as 32-bit, I always first have...

If you were to see that in reality you would have the engine off and in for complete overhaul. :D

Re: The repaint request thread

Here are some work in progress shots of a repaint of Bruce Olson's AT-6G, which is based at Flying Cloud airport in Minnesota. This is another in the series of the Minnesota "T-6 Thunder" Texans (consisting of 14 Texans, 25 pilots) - the others done so-far include the "Craig Field&quo...

Re: Surviving T-6's and P-51's

Since the FAA changed registration rules to require re-registration with a fee, it is a fairly accurate measure now, as few aircraft with active airworthiness certificates remain in the rolls Sure, it cleaned it up a bit, but there are still many warbirds registered with the FAA that exist only as ...
