P3D 4.1 has been released: will everything still work?
Will all current A2A planes work in 4.1 or do we need patches?

Re: Gear Selector, and Power selection
I also used to forget everytime if I should first lower MP and the prop or the other way around. Somehow I just couldn't get it to stick into my head. Until I came up with a mnemonic: Prop on top. A simple rhyming sentence like that is easy to remember! Whatever you do, the prop has to stay above, o...

Re: How does the Commanche compare to my C182 ?
Also, thanks to the instrumentation provided in the Cherokee, you can learn to navigate using VOR radials via the Davtron 903 and S-Tec30 autopilot. You can do the same kind of flying with the Comanche! No need to get the Cherokee in order to do that. I do it ALL the time! There is nothing m...

Re: Loading default aircraft - does the location matter?
This seems to work perfectly fine! Now I can leave my plane again as it is and where it is! And of course looking at it from the outside, empty and doors closed. Awesome! Can't get more real than this. And I also found a simple and obvious workaround for the change of day and time: edit the s...

Re: Loading default aircraft - does the location matter?
You can still do what you want, just don't click the default flight box and save as a normal flight. Make sure your sim is launching with the GUI and not direct into the sim and then the default flight with the trike over Friday harbour of the f22 or f35 at some random runway is essentially loaded ...

Check the weather around you: you might need to use the carb heat!

Re: How does the Commanche compare to my C182 ?
The difference between the C172 and the Comanche is more interesting than the difference between the C182 and the Comanche. I own the 172, not the 182, and I enjoy the Comanche a lot more. But well, that is also because the C172 doesn't have a prop lever. For you the differences may be less big. The...

Re: Loading default aircraft - does the location matter?
It's a shame though... I always used to save my flight as default after landing my A2A plane and then when I started up P3D the next time, everything was exactly as I left it! But I did indeed run into problems with this with P3D v4 so now I have a default flight with a default plane and so I have t...

Re: The dangers of base to final
Couple of queries regards the Comanche. The fouling of spark plugs seems to resolve by itself when the aircraft is saved overnight, so when I return the issue is not there any longer. I have the C+D start set to on, damage on etc. Not sure if this is correct or not. Secondly, is any wear and tear, ...

Re: Directional issues?
Or simply press the D key. (Which is the default key to correct the compass card.) I have to set that compass card EVERY DAY. It never ever happens that I get back to the plane and the compass card doesn't have to be aligned. So (lazy as I am) I made a habit of pressing D a few times whenever I ente...

Re: The two out of five channeling...? HLD + HLD FRQ
Well, I am not complaining  but since everything is working it would have been nice to also have this working. But I am fine without though. Don't even know what 'Pull test' would do. Well, Yes, it would deactivate the squelch circuit but I have no clue what that means LOL Probably noth...

Re: The two out of five channeling...? HLD + HLD FRQ
I am actually using ALL available options on these devices whenever I can. I fly without GPS so I need them too. The Comanche is as complete as it can be and that's why I love it. Well, complete... oddly enough one option hasn't been implemented unfortunately: the volume knobs on the radio's ...

Re: ADF ANT mode?
Thanks again, Nick! It's clear to me now. :D Not something you'll ever actually need in a sim environment, I guess, where everything is quite perfect (like the ADF needle itself which is always 100% correct: I've heard that in real life it can move all the time and bring you out of course by 10 to e...

Re: The two out of five channeling...? HLD + HLD FRQ
In practice, I suspect there are fairly few excuses to use the HLD function but on one or two occasions I've found it useful if NAV1 is tuned to an ILS frequency which doesn't have DME, but there's a separate VOR/DME on the field. Well, funny thing, today I already made good use of my new knowledge...
