Thanks Rob and folks. I did pretty much as described herein. On power reduction after takeoff, I notice that would have to be done almost like within a minute, else the engine would start quitting. But once power is reduced (MP 30 and prop 2000 pm), it would do fine. Wonder though is this how it is ...

Did already. Everything is fine, except for a few cylinders showing 60 to 70 percent compression.

The manual says to use Rich mixture when MP and RPM in yellow range. When I set to rich mix, full MP and full prop takeoff at 4500ft the engine tends to quit within a minute unless I bring back power almost immediately after takeoff.

Now which is right for high altitude takeoff - lean or full rich ?

Actually now i wonder if it was just luck. There were times when i did much braking, at times when speed was still quite fast. Not sure that could be cause though.

For the span of 25 hours flying this plane, i had encountered 2 times major hydraulic leaks that needed a fix.

Is this being over modelled?

Thanks Scott. I just confirmed the OAT shows 16 degrees on ground, sea level. I loaded default cessna and also the T6 and both shows 15 degrees. With AS16, when temp was to 30 degrees, the B17 OAT showed something like 32 or 33 degrees when on ground. So this is because of ground heating modelling? ...

I have been flying with ActiveSky16 and noted that the B17 OAT shown in the temp gauge seems to be always 2 or 3 degrees higher than that reported by AS16. Anyone else seen this?
