Re: Just Daydreaming...

The very first sim aircraft I ever purchased (and, indeed, the very first content I bought for a Microsoft Flight Simulator) was the Flight Sim Developers Aerostar 700. For the time (MSFS 2004), it was a well-sorted model with a truly great virtual cockpit -- which was a brand new technology at the ...

Re: It's been some time away from the B-17 Cockpit...

The B-17 had an aesthetic that makes me want to fly it long distances. I am envious of your ambition! Happy flying and safe landings. =)

Re: Skylane N415CS before and after

Am i missing something? They look the same The second one is "sparklier"! :D It's subtle, but there is more lustre in the second shot, by my eye. The color scheme of course is the same. I noticed it mostly on the rich red on the cowl; it almost looks brown at first! Next is taking it some...

Re: no cabin heat control in guppy

I do remember reading somewhere that they did strip down the aircraft for weight reductions as mentioned above as well as the removal of the turbo chargers and other unnecessary equipment that wasn't needed for what the aircraft was going to be used for but I am still confused as the switch for the...

Re: Recommendations for a GA twin turboprop add-on?

I do not have a huge amount of time logged in it but the PMDG Jetstream has a lot of good features. It is, like other complicated PMDG products, a bit tough on system resources, though. I enjoyed tinkering with it when it first came out!

One of the best feelings in aviation is a good clean landing! I still have trouble making my landings pretty in the Mustang. Good work!

Re: What else are you playing?

I am also frankly addicted to KSP! I spend a lot of time trying to make approximations of real-world aircraft in it. Haven't really spent much time in space in the game, come to think of it. ;)

Re: Installing on another PC - can I copy my settings?

Many flightsim add-ons do not create required directories until the first time you actually utilize the add-on in FSX. Try hopping on to your sim, booting up the aircraft (maybe even fly it a little!) and then quit out of the sim and check for the needed folders again. If things happen how I think t...

Re: Favorite airport or scenery to fly into or out of?

You're welcome, Chris! I think KBHB from Orbx requires FSGlobal, as they haven't released a New England high-detail package yet. Heron's Nest is fictional, by the way, but still pretty and fitting of Maine's coast. I do my real world flying out of KBGR and actually have never landed in Bar Harbor. T...

Re: Favorite airport or scenery to fly into or out of?

If you fancy a trip to the East Coast and don't mind purchasing payware, I base all my A2A products out of Bar Harbor in Maine (KBHB). Orbx recently released a great scenery that accurately covers the State Park and coastal areas around the field, and it's long enough to operate a lightly loaded Str...

Re: FSX Steam?

Literally the only problem I have had with the Steam version of FSX is that some of my very old CD-based installs are not possible. Namely, the VRS Superbug and PMDG 747. I have those both on CD and, since the installers were written well before FSX was on Steam, they simply cannot see it and cannot...

Towing the P-51

So. After greatly enjoying the Texan for a while, I'm currently on a P-51 kick (which may or may not be related to some really nice repaints that have cropped up recently). However. For some reason, one of my very favorite features with the Texan was using the 'tow' feature to back it into a parking...
