Thanks for the news! Have been awaiting it's completion but nothing's been posted on the MAPS site yet.
Looks like a pilgrimage to Hendon later in the year.

Re: Memphis Belle: Firepower vs Just Flight
I think it's still for sale on Ebay occasionally. I don't have either but the best place to ask is on the Sim Outhouse forums. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/forumdisplay.php?7-CFS3-General-Discussion There are very good freeware B17's around too, such as the ones in the ETO install. Cheers, ...

Re: Opening canopy on Spits & Hurris
I'm pretty sure that correct procedure was to take off with the hood locked open. Just been browsing the net and came across this, fascinating! :) http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/archive/index.php?t-72714.html HOW TO - TAKE OFF AND LAND A 'SUPERMARINE SPITFIRE' Mk1, Mk11, and MkV. In the early year...

Re: Low Flying Navigation Training
I've been following your posts with interest CA. I think your approach to this is great. I do the same thing in FS9 with photo scenery and also in BoB2 and CFS3 as the major roads and rails are about in the right place for VFR. this is in conjunction with the BoB maps I purchased from Shockwave. How...

Hi CA,
There's some pretty useful stuff on this website, if you haven't already seen it.

If they could make the terrain in CFS3 look that good, I might reinstall it! Hi Fish, the cfs3 terrain has been improved, have you seen the ETO and BoB installs? That was pretty good, Thanks for the link.
Only problem I could see though... where were the gluey fingerprints on the cockpits?

Re: Factory follys
Also came across this LW pic of Aldershot from a collection of pre invasion recce photos. The title says troop training area but it shows factories or similar at the bottom. Not knowing the area I haven't been able to pinpoint this on a modern map http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr332/Pat_Pattle/...

Re: Factory follys
when were the concrete runways actually laid? From "The Military Airfields of Southern England" by Peter Delve it says " the airfield underwent a number of improvements during the war, including 3 runways..." As a guess I would have thought it was grass in 1940. From what I've r...

Re: OT: Calling Stickman
PV - JVM is the one and the same chap who's helped me with the CFS3 BoB France material in the past, great that he's helping out with CLoD too. :) shows what appears to be a concrete strip "rollfeld mit startbahn" (google won't tell me what a startbahn is, but it sounds like a concrete tak...

Re: OT: Calling Stickman
I will now accept the idea that 4 or 5 aircraft of JG 51 Stab used it. But only for 14 days in August. Then they flew from St. Inglevert with I Gruppe until November. Yes that's very probable, especially as the airfields in that area became more established and there usage rationalised over the mon...

Re: OT: Calling Stickman
I have looked long and well at the nearby terrain around Wissant, and I will never accept that an airfield was on the sandy dunes just east of Ville (as per BoB1) on the ponds and marsh just west of Ville (as per COD) or on the rolling ridges and drainage washes just south of Ville. Many years ago ...

Re: OT: Calling Stickman
Great photos! Not sure that the bottom one is Audembert, looks far too developed for 1940, Le Touquet perhaps??
I think the radar at Griz nez was a Freya for detecting shipping and aircraft.
