CrazySchmidt - we are still working on the sky,

MachineMk2 - just wondering - why do you want a demo *long before* the product?

Welcome SkyChimp!

I certainly think the engine behind BoB is good and flexible and extensible enough to be used for further sims :).

If you look at my posts, you will see I use that word REALLY seldomly. However, how do you call people that tell something different about how a sim works internally than the developer himself? Either they know how it works and say it differently or they do not know and just tell the people how it i...

You might have heard what some Il2 fan boys say, namely that in Il2 you shoot at the grafical 3D model. When I heard this the first time, I was surprised since this would be a quite inefficient way reagarding use of computing power versus effect once you think about it. However, the people telling i...

Also, you could say DInput will use DX9 - actually there are no differences between DInput in DX8 and DX9. However, Rowan's input module was written in DX7 (or even earlier?) and we rewrote it.

Hi :D I sometimes look at your BoB forum with Babelfish ;). Find the features list here: http://www.shockwaveproductions.com/bob/features.htm It also includes the list of plane types. We were not able to expand it versus Rowan's BoB, however all the main planes of the battle are included. Regarding ...

Hi and welcome :). <Osram goes to Ubi Germany and looks for the BoB WoV thread ;)> a) MP will not be the strong side of this sim, especially compared to Il2. It will work, but not to the extent that people will want to fly online the whole time. We spent most of our time on SP or "general"...

Unfortunately the release will contain no heavy bombers. I have to admit we have to work almost round the clock already to get the things in we planned. I personally think the official time frame of the BoB - or actually any fixed time frame is rather artificial, so I have no problems at all with mi...

In telegram style: For fun ;), I added up my time estimate for all mentioned jobs and arrived at 14 man years. Small compared to a new sim from scratch (about 50 man years) and probably also compared to incorporating it in many other "engines", but is of course no small feat for a small co...

I didn't mind a slow start to PR, since I rather have expectations ramping up than create enormous expectations at first and then suffer reducing expectation...

Well, it sounds like a very interesting idea! Also, it would fit well with the North Weald project.

But first we have a sim to build polish and ship !
So, let's speak about this again after release. Then we can ask knowledgable people for what the chances are, what it would need to be like etc.

Are you a teacher?

One of us has spoken to the North Weald museum and they are interested in having something when they go into schools.
