Re: Differences between checklists and Shift-3 info

I think in the "Procedures Explained" section of the manual they're slightly different again.

I was going to base mine on the Procedures section.

Re: What do you fly the C172 with?

Thanks for the replies everyone, ended up googling some hardware there.... Nico, you mentioned FFB, which I had to look up as well. I've lately been using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, but I also had an old Wingman Force Feedback lying around. I found a Logitech power supply that fitted it and tried in...

Re: What do you fly the C172 with?

Very nice, thanks for that :D

I notice that in the middle of it all you have the Cessna yoke. I've been thinking about that one. Do you use it for most planes on FSX?

Re: 3D landing lights comparision

The lights look alright to me. Where's the hotfix? I can't see it anywhere?
Thanks.

Edit: oops sorry, it's in the technical discussion part.

What do you fly the C172 with?

Obviously some people will have instrument panels. radio stacks, a separate monitor for the cockpit or whatever, and that's great. I would if I had the space and the money. But, what do you control her with? Joystick? Yoke? Throttle quadrant? etc. Just wondered. Wife's back now so can't fly right no...

Re: >> Walk Around 'Tutorial' <<

Thank you for that. I have done it a few times but there's a couple of points that I was misinterpreting I think. One was the static port, where I'd click it and nothing would happen. I guess you only need the button if its blocked. Regarding the tie downs, is it okay to remove them later? I did the...

Re: ADF (NDB) Frequencies

Thinking about it, its probably a really stupid question of mine sorry. NDBs aren't used like that if I remember rightly. The ADF shows the direction of the beacon, but there's no distance specified by it. What I think I've done is to read something and misinterpret it. Basically the suggestion was ...

Re: Controlling the C172

Thanks for that. I'm reasonably okay with EzDok. I have a few cameras setup on it for this C172, with the main view, closeup of the panel, radio stack, lights etc. and a few views over the shoulder etc. Switching between these is fine but I was thinking of looking out the window as the plane rolls s...

Re: ADF (NDB) Frequencies

Eek, I just shut down my laptop with FSX, I'll try tomorrow. In theory there's no reason why it can't be tuned to an NDB frequency? I'm sure that it functions in the same way as the actual DME its modelled on, I just wondered if tuning it to an NDB was too stupid idea to be possible.... But as you s...

Re: ADF (NDB) Frequencies

On the subject of the ADF, can the DME be used with the ADF?

From what I can see the DME can either use a pre-set frequency or the one from one of the NAV radios, but the preset can't be in the same range as that of the ADF. Is it like that or did I misunderstand?

Thank you.

Controlling the C172

Hi. I bought this plane a couple of days ago and I love it. Its like the Spit but I can actually fly it  Or if you like, its like other Cessnas that I own but its alive and has more detail and is more fun to fly. I was wondering about trim. How do you control it? Do you just use buttons on ...

Re: Do I need pedals?

Ill just add in my 2pence worth, I believe a twist grip joystick is enough if thats what you have. I know in combat sim world alot of pilots just use these as part of a HOTAS system and they get on just fine in all manner of sims. Pedals are of course nice, it adds to the immersive feeling a hell o...

Re: Do I need pedals?

Thanks for the thoughts. I bought Dangerous Beans' pedals so now the correct response is "Yes, pedals are vital" But I do wonder whether setting autothrottle to yes is a much cheaper option. Yes, you'll lose a little bit of realism, and if you are, or ever will be, a real pilot then ...

Re: Do I need pedals?

Yes, I live in Cove :D It sounds daft asking about Paypal, but if you'd sold stuff on ebay I thought it was possible. Presumably the pedals just have a usb plug, they don't need to plug into a yoke? (In some ways the Cub doesn't have a yoke so a joystick will do....) Also I have Windows 7 and the pe...

Re: Do I need pedals?

Hi Dangerous Beans

I'm in Farnborough. That seems a very good price, how long have you had them? Did you buy a better set?

I feel the words "gift horse" and "mouth" here and "yes" would probably be a better one.

Do you take Paypal? :D
