Re: Nice takeoff video of C172R from cockpit...
Believe me, this A2A model handles just like a 172. Airspeed control is really very important and you will float and balloon and go everywhere but onto the runway if you have excess airspeed. We can't see how fast this pilot was going in this video, so we can't judge how well he managed his airspee...

Re: Nice takeoff video of C172R from cockpit...
Alec, I find the C172 to be very easy to land but we have noticed there are two different kinds of flight simmers out there, when it comes to how they use the controllers. We're working some new elevator response physics to accommodate both camps. The elevator does play a role in the landing charac...

Re: Nice takeoff video of C172R from cockpit...
But the landing is very different from what we experience in A2A. Almost no float, he brings the nose up, and it doesn't want to climb, it just makes it stay in the air for another two or three seconds. Landing the C172 right now, as many users are reporting, is tougher than landing a P-51!

Re: General flight dynamics observations
It would be great if all FS Developers united to making addons using this tweak from now on. Then we would have much more realistic ground roll simulation with no compromisses.Caldemeyn wrote:It also changes rollout and takeoff length, so the model will not meet the numbers after that tweak.

Re: another 2 small bugs
Same here. I think the engine response is a pretty much on the slow side of the curve. I fly an aircraft with a Lycoming O-320-B2B 160HP, and if I slam the throttle forward, I get that RPM needle to go up much faster, but of course it will make the Engine sputter. It takes about 2 seconds maximum to...

A landing video of his C172 would be nice to see if there was considerable float of the aircraft over the runway. Even better if it showed airspeed as well.

Here's a video demonstrating that while a C172 can rollout with nose gear in the air, it requires power, As soon as we hear the pilot chopping the power, the nose goes back to the ground

Re: Engine start quite easy?
Would be cool to have an engine that sometimes just won't start. YOu end up having to stop using the starter, wait for it to cool, prime again and try another time.

Re: General flight dynamics observations
The nose came up on its own and I floated. The speed bleed off to just around 40 knots, with the nose still up, then she dropped onto the runway. A This doesn't happpen in real-life. I have time on 172M, P and SP models. SP is not overly sensitive on the elevator; it is "light" on the ele...

Re: Ground Rudder Travel
I can't make the turn from taxiway to align on the runway without using the brakes. The Cessna rudder pedals doesn't have a direct connection to the Nose gear, there's a spring system, so it's not as effective as a direct conection, but it's also nowhere this hard to make a simple 90 degrees turn. A...

This bird right now is IFR certified only on my FSX, flying with AP on after takeoff until landing. Really, no joy at all hand flying it at the current state

Idea - Virtual IFR hood
So, I bought this C172 thinking about my IFR Training that I will be soon taking, on a C152, and later on a much larger Seneca. The thing is that FSX is a pain to get proper IMC weather. You end up seeing below the clouds at some point, even with Overcast condition. So, as this is Cessna is probably...

Re: I have P-Factor but no torque or gyro effects
Alec, I am resistant to give a date because there are always unexpected events that can push things back. But this is a high priority for us and we already have the framework in place. It just needs a good bit of testing. Scott. Thank you. Most of all, I respect A2A's attitude of trying to fix the ...

Re: I have P-Factor but no torque or gyro effects
Oracle, We were not happy with the p-factor and torque were were seeing in the FM, so we turned it down as it was more natural to have less torque and p-factor than something that wasn't right. We are working on bringing these systems into Accu-Sim. A much nicer and more accurate torque, p-factor, ...

Re: I have P-Factor but no torque or gyro effects
Yes, I did a Slow Flight and it almost didn't ask for any rudder. A 160HP should definitely ask for some rudder to keep the heading. It just drops a little bit of the left wing. There's some issue with the Yaw tendencies on this C172. The C152 I fly with a 110HP has much more than this 160HP. I reme...
